Maybe it's just me but I thought he was noticeably slower.

Sacrificing speed for bulk/muscle is NOT beneficial to Haye's style, whether he did it intentionally or it happened as a result of inactivity/extra weight.

That explosive speed was a major part of the style that made him successful.

Haye has never been an impressive fighter. A couple of years ago, you idiots had him beating a prime Holyfield in a fantasy fight. Smh. He has fast hands but he's wild and undisciplined in the ring. Who has he ever defeated of note? He talked himself into a fight with WK and got humiliated and it wasn't because of Wlad either. Wlad fights like a BIG ass punk. Haye is just a coward and didn't come to fight. In conclusion, I was not impressed. I am also not impressed with Fury or Wilder either. I think Ortiz has more skill than all of them.

floyd did the same thing when he "retired" looked tiny vs hatton then came back super huge vs marquez. he probably thought well everyone else is using ped's (or iv rehydration for those still in denial) so i will too. like bonds in baseball. jealousy and the desire to stay in the spotlight are powerful things.

I kind of felt that too but for now I'm chalking it up to ring rust and timing. He still looked explosive but you look slower when punches miss. Hopefully thats it because speed is his #1 asset.

I know for a fact that Shane McGuigan has serious worries that the right shoulder is still not as it should be, but I would expect that a one armed (maybe even a 9-toed!) Haye would start as a favourite against Martin for the IBF title.

Would not be shocked if the Hayemaker made a big offer to Martin (or even Chagiev) as if he has a title to offer up then both Wilder and Fury are in play for a big unification in either the "Battle of Britain" or the "War of Independence ".

Seems like anyone who gets bigger or looks good now is automatically considered a drugs cheat by many so-called boxing fans. No wonder the sport is dying.

I thought he looked good for not having fought in 3 years. Showed great reflexes and the finish was vintage Haye.
But i wonder with the added weight if he can fight for more than 3 rounds. And we dont know if he can be as elusive as he used to be. He cant afford to be aggressive against the big boys.

Still, he does add a bit more excitement to the division. All his past nonsense is forgiven.
