He never really looked to have a plan or like he was trying to build off anything and set his shots up. I don't think wilder is much of a thinking fighter...he just throws in mechanical fashion or capitalizes on his opponents mistakes. It's not necessarily a bad thing given his physical gifts...i just don't think it'll be enough against a experienced opponent who can push him out of his comfort zone.
How can you say that Wilder isn't a thinking fighter and then say that all he does is capitalize on his opponent's mistakes? You do know that making your opponent pay for their mistakes requires a great deal of skill right?

As far as Wilder's "gift," he measured Szpilka with his left, and then put the right hand dead on his chin. That was no lucky punch nor a gifted opening dude.

Based on the replays I'm impressed with Wilder he's throwing shorter straighter punches and if he keeps going that direction hes going to become a very dangerous man

so is Szpilkas career over when he looses like this? Even IF it went the distance and he won every round he was going to loose according to the score cards but at least the public would have saw the robbery but when a guy gets knocked out cold like this and his name isnt that big to begin with is his career over? Will he even get another title shot?

Yep. Szpilka had some great moves til he made that one mistake. Outside of that, it was going to be a close SD for Wilder or a draw.

I'm just amazed the Wilder fans don't see his flaws. There are so many of em, over and over.

Fury will easily UD or KO Wilder. It would be more interesting than Fury/Klit, but it would not end well for Wilder.

Wilder will always be an interesting fighter to watch, especially as he steps it up, but not for any reason that's a benefit to him. He always has that right, but is always susceptible to getting caught. It seemed in this fight he made even more foolish misses than the previous 2. And vs Joshua, Fury, Ortiz, Povetkin, Wlad... it's goodnight Irene for him.
I agree with most of this other than two things...One, Szpilka was losing by the time the 9th round was coming up so I don't think a split or a draw was going to happen. The other thing is that Wilder would be able to use his reach to beat Povetkin, but all the other guys would floor him.

He does just enough to get away with all the sloppy stuff that he does...

Wilder definitely has one punch power with that right hand.

Finally getting some rounds under his belt now and not ko'ing everyone in 2 rounds.
But time for the big boys to face each other ie wilder, fury, wlad, josh, haye etc

Wilder got the job done. The ppl saying he looked bad i dont think really know what theyre lookn at..Wilder was lookn to counter early,as in draw him out and respond. Also, Szpilka was an awkward opponent and i thibk it was an effective style in a sense that it didnt lookgood on Wilder and with his length, any opponent who crowds his feet is gonna make him look bad...up until he lands that is. Szpilkas a tough dude whose fkught at the world level before .solid win for Wilder.

For large parts of this fight spilka was on top. And spilka is nowhere near top ten on anyones list. He is a bum who was stopped by jennings yet he made wilder look bad until that lucky punch landed. LOL fury will destroy wilder.

This pretty much. Not sure if it was a styles thing but Wilder didn't look good at all apart from the KO.
