I don't think Wilder was ever in danger of losing the fight. He didn't look great but I was watching and waiting for him to knock this guy out. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the hate Wilder is getting. I get it, he's not your favorite guy. Some of you should stick to watching the The Bachelor on TV and leave boxing alone.Comment

wilder has NO amateur exp to speak of didnt he pick up boxin in his 20's?
pretty impressive for somebody who aint never boxed until their 20's.
he still has ALOT to work on as far as technique. he STILL doesnt throw his hooks properly
i still dont see him throwin' his right hands like how i would like him too.
his defense is decent bc he can lean back and turn an opponent to lessen the impact but his defense from what ive seen is his athletic ability to step back and pull back.
and my MAIN GRIPE is his BALANCE. i see nobody sayin' anythang about his FOOTWORK he is TOO FLAT FOOTED AND HIS STANCE IS TOO WIDE.
but with all that criticism he has a POWERFUL punch and that was displayed tonight IF he lands flush its OVERComment

First off: Fury beats Wilder. Period.
I say this because Wilder's weakness is blatant: he can't fight on the backstep. Szpilka got caught because he was winded by round 5 and no longer able to avoid the right. He was eating it all night long from that point. It was just a matter of time before he got KO'd.
Prior to that Wilder was off balance, sloppy and clumsy, always head hunting and trying to get the right in. Constantly wobbly when trying to avoid punches to the body, getting tagged with counters he shouldn't have, too little head movement. Very little body work. Same as with his other fights. He does the same thing every fight: Waits for his opponent to tire themselves out, then goes for a KO.
If Wilder can't do body work, he won't beat Tyson Fury.
On a side note, I thoroughly enjoyed the Fury/Wilder back and forth and Wilder won at least the verbal side of it. "I WILL baptize you". These two = ratings.Comment

Been saying it until im blue in the face. ALL WILDER HAS IS A RIGHT HAND. Because he"s tall and athletic people think he has a good jap which he should but just doesnt. Also Wilder trips and stubbles every fight so his foot work is mediocre at best. beautiful KO with impeccable timing. Would be interesting to see what would happen if/when wilder fights a top 10**** that was brutal...
was genuinely worried for szpilka.
but was definitely disappointed in wilders performance overall.
that 1 dimensional right hand... i expected more from him... especially utilizing that reach advantage and fighting a smarter plan..
but
BOOOOMBSQUAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!!
lets go wilder!
definitely love wilder's class.Comment

Naww those type trainers wouldn't work in the heavyweight division because one good punch can make a difference in the entire fight. You need a trainer that can recognize the opponent weaknesses and know how to attack it. Standing 6ft 7 there isn't much defense that Wilder can use to his advance besides leaning back. He can't crouch cause he'll put himself in range and to big of a target to lean left and right to trying and counter.
A fighter like Ortiz, Haye, and Joshua will try and come in low and come over the top. Well Wilder should see that coming. But they still will try. The question is, will they be able to handle the straight coming right back at them once they do try it. You not going to just walk straight in on Wilder and go to work. He has a long stiff jab and a strong straight right. It's not that easyComment
