He didn't have to land. If Glazkov suffers an injury that is not caused by an intentional or accidental foul and cannot continue, the result is a TKO victory for the opponent.

If a fighter cannot continue after an intentional foul, he is the winner by DQ.
If a fighter cannot continue after an accidental foul before 4 rounds, it is a no contest.
If a fighter cannot continue after an accidental foul after 4 rounds, it goes to the scorecards.

Martin did not commit a foul. Glazkov's knee just gave out and he couldn't continue. Martin is the rightful winner by TKO.

I think Martin was handed the win in an attempt to prop up Wilder by the extremely sad fact that Wilder actually looks legit by comparison.

I also loved how the commentary team kept trying to influence idiots or the legally blind by endlessly repeating how Martin was "athletic".

Like, Martin could not possibly be any more slow and stiff...

The anterior draw test the doc did on his knee confirms and acl tear. If there was no tear to the acl his joint would have been more rigid an almost immovable.

interesting to see how many boxing fans don't know the rules of boxing.

i've seen comments in multiple threads claiming it should have been a no contest.

                      on what grounds exactly?

                      learn the rules fellas.
