How does this thread have anything to do with #48 getting schooled?

Does it all just depend on who the boxer is and how big his following is?

Look at Khan for instance, is he being sit out to try on his own volition? I'm sure Al has suggested fights for him to take only to be shot down by Khan.
I'll quote Angel Garcia, Danny garcias father and trainer.

        "Al haymon picks them

        I train him

        And Danny fights them"

If haymon fighters have a choice is a very limited one.

Like many others, I have also heard two different methods when finding opponents for Haymon adviced fighters. One was the infamous list of names and the other was the fighter picking out his foes and having Haymon set it up. However, if I recall correctly... Haymon can still shut down certain fights and no fight goes through without his confirmation. It was in his contract, which is rather revealing and exposes just how in control he really is of all his fighters. He can shelf them, he can make them turn down pay days, he can steer them away from dangerous opponents, etc.. Which defeats the whole "I choose my opponents" stand that certain Haymon fighters claim to posses.

exactly, I honestly believe haymon made mayweather face berto cause haymon been trying to give berto the mayweather fight for the longest now probably a favor to berto for berto being haymon first fighter.

Berto was not Haymon's first fighter though...

you said Floyd chooses his fight.

that neither a fact nor logical.

you were exposed and just like a typical genius floyd fan being exposed they either result to insulting or deflecting.

haymons chooses who his fighter fights.

he is an adviser, and if they don't heed to his advice off they go.

                thread ends here.

I don't think he does actually. If you read between the lines in some of his interviews like when he was asked why he chose Marquez he goes on to say "Al Haymon and Leonard Ellerbe have done a remarkable job with my career". He was trying to say that Marquez was chosen for him.
