Both teams were openly discussing that fight..... yes the discussions were preliminary, and on twitter..... but they happened nonetheless.

The " discussion " from the Lara camp primarily centered around assurances that they would meet all of the demands made by Team Golovkin, and the "discussion" from the Golovkin camp primarily centered around excuses as to why that fight cannot happen..... culminating in words to this effect.

Fight aren't made over Twitter. One poster just posted the video of Lara's manager saying they made no real moves to make the fight. Lara is making millions fighting nobodies and is happy doing it. He and Decubas know the outcome of the fight against GGG, they don't want unless they get enough to retire on.

But if Lara was serious about the fight move up to 160 and beat Jacobs or BJS and prove he belongs.

Lara is a top level fighter, is calling for the fight and would be by far the best pro that Golovkin has shared a ring with. When you're fighting the likes of Monroe, the 'not a draw' excuse doesn't fly.

The initial agreement to fight can happen anywhere. If one side has no interest in it it will never go any further than a call out on Twitter/TV/Interviews.

Possible but Tom Loeffler is a 50+ year old man he's not making a fight over Twitter especially one wrapped up in politics. Decubas needs to either try to make the fight if he really wants it for his client or Lara moves up and makes a stake at MW, claim a title if possible.

But in reality we all know the fight is unlikely to happen this year unless GGG fights again in December and Lara and his team have done the above.
