Khan unified the belts for a start (IBF and WBA), whilst the best Matthysse could do was an interim title. Although I agree that doesn't do Matthysse justice he still did not do better than Khan. Matthysse's losses against Judah and Devon were close fights which could have easily been given to Matthysse. But you could say the same about Khan-Peterson. Both guys lost to Garcia but its hard to compare performances as a dominant early Khan got wiped out and Matthysse was competitive early before losing a wide decision.

Khan beat Maidana though which I think is the best win from either guy, that with the fact that he wiped out Judah, shut out Kotelnik, and dominated Malignaggi, is more impressive than Matthysse's performances and accomplishments.

khan's best win at 140 is what, maidana? maidana lost to alexander at 147, and matthysse beat him on most reasonable cards.

khan lost to peterson, was knocked out by danny. those are common opponents.

matthysse did much better against danny, knocked peterson out in a one sided, three round fight. that was a beating.

lost to judah in what i thought was a close fight. he 100% beat alexander. that fight wasn't all that close. was basically all done after the danny fight, struggling with molina and provodnikov, and losing to postol.

provodnikov had a decent career, and isn't an awful win.

the common opponents really tell the tale for me. matthysse beat the daylights out of peterson, and did a heck of a lot better against garcia, who beat up khan and stopped him.

This is right here lets you know EXACTLY what is wrong with boxing, and explains all you need to know about Danny's career path. Danny will not fight an ELITE fighter unless he is ABSOLUTELY forced to.

I like Angel and I used to have respect for Danny after he beat Matthyse, but have lost it for he fact that he has refused to test himself and has fought nothing but bums and soft touches sincethe Matthyse win.

Robert Garcia is not a good fight, and has been on the downslide. He's just a name that is now a gate keeper. He was almost knocked out by Aaron (cab driver) Martinez, and a DAMN SHAME they are gonna give Danny the WBC 147 title after winning that fight. It's beyond time for Danny to fight a guy who is an actual threat, and that's not Guerrero.

Good job NES for calling Angel out!!!!!!!

That sort of stuff is disgusting, sports and competition is all about proving you're the best. These guys are just businessmen that want to make money as easy as possible.

Wide decision? Mattysee lost by one round on the scorecards, how is that considered a wide decision lost?

Says a lot about some of the mindsets you can find in this generation of boxing.

Some fans don't want to see the best vs the best, they don't want legacy defining fights etc they want to argue about numbers or resumes or whatever else is usually irrelevant. However, Angel is a pretty prominent face in the sport these days, it is quite disgusting that he, as a part of his sons team, has this type of outlook as well...

It's all about protecting your favourite fighter and keeping him looking good.

Every post from the Floydboys is with a hidden(or they think) Floyd agenda.

You are right man. Rather than have a wish or desire to see their guy in there and tested in order to legitimise what they claim, they'd prefer to argue back and forth about ****** things. Personally I would rather see the guys fight than sit here and type up a debate about someone's numbers or something similar...

This whole "Why should fighter A bother with fighter A1", is a pathetic part of this generation and I hope it doesn't carry into the next.
