I saw all this with Pacquiao.

Any potential opponent, or anyone who speaks derisively (the truth) is a coward, ducker, bum, blah blah.......... Ward got it, Cotto got it, Canelo got it, trainers who point out that Golovkin is over-hyped get it, etc.....

      YESTERDAY:

Pacquiao said " I will fight anyone at 150 ".

Sergio Martinez said..... " ok then, lets go ".

Manny u-turned, and crawled up his own ass.

Martinez then became utterly reviled, I have never seen anyone so hated.

      TODAY:

Golovkin said " I will fight anyone from 154-168 ".

Andre Ward said..... " ok then, lets go ".

Golovkin u-turned, and crawled up his own ass.

Ward then became utterly reviled, I have never seen anyone so hated.

And you dumb fk's dont think that we notice ?

Bottom line is this........Ward has been through some problems with injuries and contract problems over the last couple years.....but the bigger problem was there weren't exactly a line of guys that brought money fights lining up to get in the ring no matter the weight, including GGG, Kessler 2, Froch 2, Groves, Chavez Jr, Pavlik at one point......and Paul Smith, limited as he was, wasn't a pure bum. Ward just made him look that way.

But does anyone remember how widely regarded Dawson was? Ward ruined the dude off his win from B-Hop. Setting up the fluke known as Adonis Stevenson........when Floyd said Dawson was the best fighter in the world not named Mayweather despite his off-night showing vs Pascal.

As for the current negotiations, why do Kovalev a favor unless it's worth it?

Barrera is the #1 contender for Kovalev. I would love to see Ward vs Barerra, if for no other reason that to shut everyone up because make no mistake, Barrera barely has a puncher's chance.....But I have a hunch that outside of Barrera, RocNation is putting some screws to Duva since Ward would be doing Sergey a favor by giving him an ass-beating and removing him from 'mandatory status'....

So they are going to squeeze Duva for a little more $$ so that Kovalev and Barrera don't have to fight each other. The best thing for Duva woud be for Barrera to wait and NOT fight Ward.....if Ward beats Barrera before he even gets his shot?? I think Duva would prefer to keep Barrera at Mandatory status for the Kovalev-Ward winner. When Ward said 'what? I don't have a contract', he meant that terms HAVE NOT been reached on Barrera's side despite what they say.......and this isn't the first time this has happened to Ward.....

Bottom line is this: Despite the inactivity, just like other recent P4P #1's and taking breaks, Ward went out on injury as the #2 guy behind Floyd. If you want to take him off the list for inactivity, do so. But that doesn't erase what he did do to prove himself and it surely doesn't mean anyone ranked higher is better. Poor guy has a hell of a time getting someone with a name in the ring. And since Floyd retired and Ward has been inactive, it's been 'fun' to put action guys at the top of the P4P list.......but it doesn't make them the best. Until proven wrong, I think Ward and Rigo are stil 1-2.....

I'll take Ward over Barrera, Kovalev, GGG, Pascal, DeGale, anyone 160-175 and I think it will be lopsided..........anyone you choose.

Ward will fight soon, people will complain regardless of who it is, he will win and then blunt Kovalev. When you're talking about 168-175, that's not all that much weight to make up as a percentage of body weight when you are on Ward's level. And I have a feeling Ward will be much stronger than Kovalev realizes as well.

          ANYWAY........

I like Kovalev. I like GGG. I like Ward. But Ward beats them all. I believe GGG has more technical ability than Kovalev and would likely be the tougher fight. But Kovalev will be the bigger, stronger guy.

But I don't think any of them touch up Ward enough to cause him real problems. So take a breath, Ward is still in his physical prime, unpunished, and will be just fine. He can fight who he wants......just as long as he gets one or two fights in before the end of the year, he'll blunt Kovalev and then everyone can STFU!!

Who exactly is he running scared from that's calling him out? Barrera? SMH..

-Please. He'll whip that kid like the undeserved 'mandatory' he is. He's already fought tougher guys.....

Ward is the best fighter in the world not named Mayweather. Yea, he won't talk smack for ratings and PPV buys and he doesn't knock guys out all the time. He just wins. I don't think he intended to come off the Super Six, take out the Lineal LHW Champ and then sit and wait for a real $$ fight. Ridiculous.

He's proven himself and will get a payday for fighting Sergey.........and he'll beat him easier than most think. Once he has, much more demand will open up, particularly if GGG takes care of Canelo by end of 2016......or Canelo bails on that fight......point is......there is plenty of money for Ward to make. in a fight or two, he'll be a big enough draw guys will be much more willing to risk their shiny records against him..........problem solved.

Outstanding post, the best I've read in a long time.

I especially agree with you regarding the absurd (naive/****** are both adjectives that would likely be more accurate) way in which some folks have written Ward off as being irrelevant, and stated that he needs to start from scratch and "prove" himself again.

            Fkn dumbasses.

But I slightly disagree with you about Kovalev.

He is a bad, bad, man.

I know folks are sleeping on Ward, but I think that a few Ward guys could be sleeping on Kovalev as well. Ward is exceptional, but Kovalev is a bad boy and a real handful.

Uhhh, y'all are dealing with Andre Ward....no fight is easy to make with him.

Don't get his way, he'll sue you. They couldn't even get him an opponent for the Canelo u/c because he was such a headache to deal with
Exactly. When Ward is involved it's like one of those bad dreams where you are trying to go somewhere but can't walk / it's like walking in molasses. The guy is a pain in the ass.
Fast forward to Christmas 2020: "Talks to finally get Andre Ward in the ring with undefeated LH Sergey Kovalev are still ongoing" says Kathy Duva. Problems with Ward's elbow, and legal battles with his great uncle Albert have kept Ward out of the ring since his last fight, a unanimous decision win in the third of his fights with Paul Smith at The ACME Bingo Hall in Oakland two years ago.

What a waste of time that guy is, how anyone can mention him as some P4P is a mystery. There are about 50 guys working harder and with better resume's than this boring diva.

                  He fights nobody.

Back in July, team Golovkin sent him to win a couple of decent fights and come back to fight at 168. What Ward did? He fought nobody instead.

Fellah, you've just typed that there was no money in a Froch rematch. You've typed that, and you're serious.
Do you just **** away at your keyboard and hope some stuff makes sense? WTF.
Here's you.."but the bigger problem was there weren't exactly a line of guys that brought money fights lining up to get in the ring no matter the weight, including GGG, Kessler 2, Froch 2,..."

Do you know how much this guy could've made fighting Froch in a stadium in UK, which was on the table if Ward would do Nottingham? He turned it down.
Don't say that there have been no interest, that is just factually incorrect. The 2013 Froch in Nottingham would have given Ward fits, especially if he put it on him earlier. Granted it would mean eating some straight Ward shots but if anyone can eat those and keep coming it's CF.
You also throw GGG in there as not being a money fight. Are you mad bro?
Poll the posters on here and ask em if they'd like to see GGG V Ward.
                    Yes they would = money.
Ward needs to get some fights made, he's always the common denominator when it comes to problems putting deals in place. GGG fights 4 x a year, how hard can he be to deal with?
I didn't read the rest of your windy post cos it would be a few minutes of my life I'd never get back.
