If GGG is not a draw, who is a draw in America? Assuming every ticket sold at MSG sold for 5 dollars (which is clearly not true), he still sold over 20,000 tickets. Who else other than Canelo can do that? Most boxing cards these days can't get half that crowd in the venue for free.

Absolutely IMO. Because the premise is that he has these extraordinary mechanics, combined with a strong beard and adequate boxing skills that only come along once in a while. AND he's being avoided. That's the premise but the fact is that he hasn't fought a great and given that Cotto hung in there pretty good with Canelo, if Canelo dominates GGG, that whole "myth" is gone.

That said, I think Canelo would do well to not get KO'd. IMO that would be a victory for Canelo.

Now he's not a draw? He sold out StubHub and MSG. 2 different coasts.. Tell me who else can do that? Floyd,Manny,Canelo,Cotto, and who else?

If he loses he loses...then he's not as good as everyone thought or Canelo has taken a big step forward since Floyd dominated him...most guys lose, that's life.

That would be the end of his "marketability", and would justify what a lot of us have been saying so far.

Yea it should be theoretically. He just isn't a big draw and I don't see how he continues to rise without facing Canelo, Quillin, Jacobs or Cotto.

I fear it would. GGG has the boogeyman aura. That's his thing. Being dominated completely kills that.

Nah, he can just finally move up and fight someone at 168 since 160 would be dry besides maybe a Canelo rematch.
His aura would be broken, and his confidence would be shot to ****. I can see Sanchez having a mental breakdown if somehow Canelo was to dominate Golovkin in the fight.
GGG has almost all the advantages going in besides negotiations pulls, big fight experience, top competition experience, hand speed, counter punching and upper body movement.
This is a fight where Canelo is expected to lose and most fighters wouldn't take since he essentially doesn't need it.
Nonetheless there will be no if when they fight, I see Canelo doing well for 3 or 4 rounds max then Golovkin starts to take over and knocks him out in the 6th.
His trainers need to devise plans on footwork, clinching, hit below the belt tricks, and phonebooth style work outs.

I'm sure if Canelo won by a round it would still be considered "domination" because of Golovkins "boogeyman" aura, and then we can all pretend like people weren't ducking him.

because that's not his basis, he doesnt care about those who attend the match, he prolly attended a ward fight with free ticket and a cheap hotdog
