I know Nacho is confident in his fighter, however going into a fight with someone of Cotto's calbiber after a year off is not a smart move in my opinion. Especially with Marquez being 42 years old. Cotto just went toe to toe with a more powerful, bigger, and stronger opponent. No way will he get bullied by a 42 year old fighter whose best days are far behind him.

Remember we all saw what happened to Martinez. Same scenario. Older fighter taking on Cotto after long inactivity. The only difference is Marquez will be considered the smaller man, which will make it worse.

Heck, Cotto should be aiming for near retired LW, and come into the ring weighing 20 pounds more than them. Shiiiit, that's what was done to him, why not.

Seriously, who the **** would pay for this fight?
Golovkin was dying to fight Cotto who is really a 147 pounder. What a pathetic bully.

Sheesh, I really hope not. That would be a disastrous move on their part if they're serious. I think it would result in the first TKO loss for Marquez. Way too old, injury ridden, inactive and small. He has even had the same dodgy knee issues as Martinez had before his fight with Cotto.

I hope they don't consider this seriously.

I mean, is Andre Ward the only guy who needs tuneup fights first before diving into real fights?

            LMAO green k.

But to try to be fair, long layoffs usually do not play out well in the comebacks.

It would be interesting if they fought.

If Nacho approves it's probably not a great idea.

There is no way Marquez is beating Cotto. Marquez is done.

I can't believe Nacho would do this. If it's true that Marquez doesn't need money, then I can't understand why Marquez would come back after 2 years to fight Cotto. Maybe they think that Cotto (losing 7lbs.) would be drained @ 147.

Cotto is not going to 147. Maybe 152. JMM would need to bulk up.
