The only places that really take the IBO seriously are African countries and Austrlia. Philippines too, but that's mostly because they win them when they visit Africa

Subjective rankings from impartial analysts (like TBRB) is probably going to beat any computerized system that's around right now. A computerized system has merit but a fight is a very complex thing for an algorithm to capture.

People dog Ring cuz of their affiliation with GBP, but I still tend to agree with them more often then TBRB or ESPN (the other two most often discussed "legit" rankings).

As for computer rankings they still tend to make more sense then the alphabet rankings to me (boxrec anyway, I don't follow the IBO rankings at all), but I'm mostly a fan of computer rankings cuz its the best way to get an idea of prospects to watch via seeing what prospects are being matched up tough or soft.

The point of the rankings is to establish a list of eligible contenders, not just to say who is the best in the division.
