like other "sanctioning bodies" fighters are ranked based on how much kick backs their promoter gives to IBO

        The IBO doesn't even matter.

I don't like their computerized rankings b/c they don't rank champions, only guys without a belt.

Same as BoxRecs but without the explanation. Pretty obvious. I rate the IBO personally. The only belt I'd be after given they only have one belt per division.

Not sure what the algorithm is. Think it used to be based on the rank of the guys beaten in the last 5 fights, and the ranks of the guys they beat etc. Manner of victory came into it too as with boxrec.

Subjective rankings from impartial analysts (like TBRB) is probably going to beat any computerized system that's around right now. A computerized system has merit but a fight is a very complex thing for an algorithm to capture.

They also make it so you only have to defend against anybody in the top 50.... so....

The point of the rankings is to establish a list of eligible contenders, not just to say who is the best in the division.
