You're completely wrong sir 2015 is when Rousey stardom took, same for McGregor. Before them the biggest star in the UFC was Jon Jones before he had his issues and all the attention was on the Light Heavyweight Division

Of course they attached Rousey to Mayweather why wouldn't they, you're talking the biggest PPV Draw in History who had the biggest PPV Event in History. After Pacquiao couldn't get the job done EVERYBODY was jumping on the Rousey Bandwagon and running around saying she would "Beat Mayweather" and that is how the hype took off in 2015 then her PPV Buys went up.

As for McGregor right now he is basically copying the Money Mayweather Persona to be honest Driving Around in Rolls Royce and show off his house. This is all GREAT MARKETING by the UFC.
