Lol that's the last resort..... Floyd makes more money. Floyd makes more money. It's never "oh, Floyd's knockout was just as good" or "Floyd's fights are just as or more exciting". Never!! It's always, Floyd has more money than this person or that person so they can't talk. That's pathetic.

Money aside, Floyd has been dominating and atop the sport for close to 20 years. I like McGregor but he's only been hot for like a year or two, let's see if he's still at the pinnacle in 2030. I highly doubt he'll even be talked about in 3 years from now as much.

Floyd proved to the world that he could sell himself and be his own promoter. The UFC sport and platform is nothing compared to boxing. What does Conor even have to do with Floyd? He is just referencing Conor and Ronda as examples of trash talking and double standards. That doesn't mean it outs them even in the same seat of success. You mention Ali, but if you want the real perspective, it was Jack Johnson for the equivalent to what is to Floyd. With inflation, Johnson was the first black millionaire superstar of a sport in the USA. That means a lot, and his time, racism was worst than in the 60s.

Floyd shouldn't have been anything, and it's a little unfair to say he should have been like Ali. You're not holding anybody else to that standard. Pacquiao is more like those other guys then Floyd is, yet Pacquiao still isn't the household name that Ali was/is.

Floyd doesn't need to be like anybody else. He's done more for this sport then any other fighter has done in decades. Why would you try and copy Ali? You're going to fall short no matter what.

It's true though man. Mayweather's star power and his voice was tiny compared to some of the other huge names in boxing throughout history.

Marciano, Joe Louis, Ali, Foreman and Tyson were cultural icons and global figures.

Mayweather just cruised along and now has pretty much disappeared. No one really cares about Floyd. They never really did. It was just his record that made the spectacle I think.
