Yes. He's rangy and quick and has great rhythm breaking timing, which is the whole point of the body jab.
Would Andre Ward's Jab to the Body Work on Golovkin?

He has fought a multitude of different styles and handles them all without hardly ever losing a round. You think he is a one trick pony?
He has even said, he never trains to a fighters style. He trains, figures them out in the first round or 2 and then fights accordingly.
That is why fighters will have to give him different looks in 1 fight. You cannot let him time you and start landing.Last edited by deanrw; 01-08-2016, 08:23 PM.Comment

I can see that. He rarely tries to tear into an opponent in the first round. Some of the best always used the first to get a feel for their opponent. After all, there are eleven more rounds. He has fought a multitude of different styles and handles them all without hardly ever losing a round. You think he is a one trick pony?

Doubt it would be a factor since Ward would likely try to smother Golovkin and stay close to him all fight, holding and trying to work the inside using his size advantage to try and out muscle him and be very physical. I don't think you'd see Ward standing mid range very much at all.Comment
