Why does this seem to be the way of British reporting? False hopefuls.

It's not official yet, TV Azteca Deportes article clearly states they are in preliminary talks, and its quoting this ESPN article: http://espn.go.com/blog/dan-rafael/p...in-discussions but gives no credit about it.

It's a good fight against his number 1 challenger. It's probably another exciting KO win for GGG and another opportunity for his haters to say he cherry picked another bum.
Not surprising. I guess you can say its another mismatch but there isn't any other alternative.
There are top ten guys he hasn't fought that would be a little bit more deserving than Johnson

There are alternatives...maybe they didn't like the fights offered...who'd they have lined up as options?

Johnson is his mandatory. If he doesn't fight him soon he will be stripped because the IBF doesn't play around. The other option is Billy Hoe Saunders but he's asking for trillions of dollars.

It is the IBF. They have some weird rankings. Johnson is a decent fighter though. He was giving Stevens the business in their fight till he got caught late. It was a bad stoppage too.

He is a top 10 guy. He should not be a mandatory but he is not a bad choice considering what is left at 160 for GGG.

No idea how hell this kid Johnson is a mandatory right now, the only legit opponent he's ever faced was Curtis Stevens and he got stopped in this fight! If it wasn't for the TKO loss to Stevens I would've given Johnson a bit of a chance to give GGG some problems because of his style, but if you don't have A level chin, stamina and punch resistance against GGG it's a short night for you. Would be funny if they try to make a PPV out of this, GGG will be at least 25-1 favorite (which is not the first time) going into the fight.

Really?
1) Canelo-zzz
2) GGG
3) Jacobs - Haymon
4) BJS - gun git peid
5) Heiland - lol. No money, no titles, 4 losses.
6) Lemieux - done that
7) Andy Lee - doesn't have a belt, and his promoter would never make the fight bc it has a high chance of putting Lee on a losing streak from which will be hard to recover
8) Quillin - Haymon
9) Eubanks - big mouth, nothing else
10 Geale - done that.

And once again..
