This overblowing of predictions reminds me of Garcia vs Matthysse. Only that they were both full blown JWW's, Canelo has to grow into a full blown MW. But when he does, or if K2 let's him, I think it's a wrap for GGG. I'm very dissapointed at the options for Canelo i'm reading of though, Rosado, Monroe Jr. I was hoping more like Andy Lee or David Lemiuex for a nice little testing the waters fight against a real MW, who Canelo would probably stop. Rosado, Monroe, that's weak stuff, that's what GGG's resume is made of. It's a huge drop in competition from 154 to 160 though.

Being outpointed and being battered to a stoppage are two very different things. That's the danger for Canelo, even if it's hard to say how real that danger is.

Don't think it would be the 'end' or anything like it though. Cotto still sold after Pac and Margarito lit him up. And Manny still sold after being ko'd by Marquez. Golovkin has a destroyer's reputation so a strong performance would be enough for Canelo to keep his own reputation fairly intact. He would be a significant underdog.

Interesting that Nacho sees it as such a terrible style match-up for Canelo.

Both nacho and Marquez never have anything nice to say about canelo and have a long history of bitter jealousy. Both fools showed their bias before the cotto fight where they picked canelo too lose and openly rooted against him. Canelo keeps proving both these guys wrong. I think this all goes back to Marquez insecurity. It fueled his great career but always makes him look petty. He was upset that morales and Barrera got all the love and respect from Mexican fans and most his career he lived in their shadows and he's still bitter about that. Then after wars and they declined he finally got the Mexican love but was jealous he was chasing Pacquiao. He was so obsessed he was not getting the same love from fans as pacquiao got thats why I believe he roided up just to beat Pacquiao in their 4th fight. That bitterness is also why refused to fight him again even though Pacquiao gave him 3 rematches when he didn't have to.

Now that Canelo has emerged and surpassed Marquez as Mexicans most famous and beloved active fighter he is jealous. Refuses to pass the torch publically. Its like he thinks if he supports canelo people will forget or it diminishes what marquez did in his career. Very similar to how jordan never supported kobe after he retired or any of the next generation and always came off bitter. To this day he still doesnt say anything nice to lebron. Marquez was a great fighter but if you follow his career he was always petty, bitter and jealous of someone else at every step. First morales, barrera, Pacquiao, and now canelo.

Yeah, he hasn't ended the careers of far lesser opponents, but could do it against by far the best guy he'll have faced. Sit down, Nacho.

              1) So: you compare the "Soviet school" with the Argentinian? Funny: To be more specific: did you watch the manner in which Postol dispatched Matthysse?

              2) Of course: because 'big guys' as, for instance, Jermall Charlo or Demetrius Andrade are afraid to go north and somehow face Golovkin.

Sorry pero el dijo que a Canelo no le alcanzó para ganar la pelea, no dijo que Cotto gano.

Sorry but he said that Canelo didn't do enough to win the fight, he didn't say that Cotto won.

I feel what Nacho is pointing out that Canelo has the potential of being in a brutal war with GGG ala Trinidad vs Vargas, where Vargas fought valiantly but he was never the same after that fight. Samething like when Bobby Chacon fought Alexis Arguello, Chacon was never the same....

That's a little excessive. GGG has never fought a fighter on this level before. Canelo gets better in every fight.

Though, Canelo doesn't fight Golovkin next, at the new Vegas arena. And precisely who will make Ganelo even better for Golovkin "at some point" (you all call 160 as being weak)?
