Comments Thread For: Canelo, Team Will Review Opponents at Golden Boy Meeting

By the end of this month or in February, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs) and his team, consisting of Chepo and Eddy Reynoso, will know a lot more information regarding their next return.

As BoxingScene.com reported on Monday night, Canelo is going to headline the first boxing event at the new MGM arena on May 7th in Las Vegas.

According to the boxer's manager, Chepo Reynoso, they will soon begin their training camp for what is going to be the first defense of the WBC middleweight title which Canelo captured last November from Miguel Cotto.

I think Monroe beats canelo easily. First off he's actually the same size as canelo and moves around very well and has a pretty good jab. I hope they can get saunders though since he's unwilling to fight golovkin

I think Monroe can give Canelo problems, but idk if he can give him THAT many problems & I definitely think he'll having problems winning a decision over Canelo with the judges love of Canelo.

It's definitely going to be Rosado. They'll market it as Mexico vs. Puerto Rico.

No one will get a decision over canelo unless they beat him and have a higher star power. Fmj is retired . and he beat easily beat canelo and didn't get a ud. Had fmj not been a bigger star than canelo he would have been robbed. Imo I think if canelo gets his brains beat out for 12 rounds but doesn't get knocked down he'll still get the decision. I do hope I'm wrong for the sake of boxing and combat sports in general

              Why, though?

Canelo is generally not a busy puncher, which judges tend to like.

Do his punches just look very crisp?
Is it because he usually has most of the crowd's support?
Does Golden Boy really have that much influence?
Is it possibly a Mexican Mafia intimidation thing?

Alvarez is a fraud for fighting Rosado...but when Golovkin knocked out Rosado he was a god of war, the best middleweight ever, etc.

                  It's funny to watch.
