Anyway here you have proof, that GGG has a better resume than Hopkins at the same age.

        Awaiting the response from Larry.

sturm's avoidance of golovkin is ridiculously well documented.

to answer your question, no, golovkin is not a hall of famer.

he is, however, the best MW on the planet by any reasonable metric, and the most avoided fighter in boxing.

Rigondeaux is like 38 is he a hall of fame fighter? or ATG?

I think GGG still has more chance if he boxes and retires by 40.

He just needs to clean out the middleweight division, people need to take into account the promotional issues here.

            its gotten worse now

GGG is a Top 3 P4P fighter, and if some of the other champs grow some cojones, he will become #1.

MW a weak division - laughing my ass off - you guys dont know **** about boxing. If GGG was not around you would say its one of the best divisions in the sport.
you become p4p by beating good fighters...not people "ducking" you....sorry bro you have to earn that status...he already has a belt that was given to him....Ward, Chocolatito beat good comp for their status as did others over the years...GGG is rated that high by his fans and the media, but people who know the sport, trainers, boxers, don't rate him that high at all. they acknowledge he is a good fighter, but is resume doesn't jump out and say...p4p GREAT

Punchers always get overrated.....regardless of who they fight

In Donaire's defense he is a future hall of famer and earned his reputation with great results and was fighting former and current titlists back to back across 5 divisions

Matthyssee had the same hype GGG does now....you think they'd learn to stop anointing fighters and let them earn their place among the best

GGG hasn't proved enough yet, just like the Machine's hype was premature...he didn't beat a top level guy, nor has GGG yet

I look forward to the fight when it happens, the winner gets all the credit in the world....

.p4p placement(by earning it, not oh he ducking or he scared, or he would beat him, I think he is better...blah blah)

We'll have a universally recognized champion in one of the glamour divisions

If Canelo isn't ready by now he never will be....he is 25 approaching 50 pro fights....he has more experience than pros older than him

I love unification fights......more fights being made and less trivial message board jargon

he destroyed peterson, who gave garcia problems and had beaten khan years ago.

matthysse had absolutely earned his #1 contender status to garcia's lineage at 140 lbs. calling him a hype job is just riciuldous. you can say he was overrated, which is fine. you can't call a guy a hype job when his resume and abilities rightfully get him ranked as the top contender to a lineal title. that's silly.

matthysse had a good career. he had good wins. i thought the judah fgiht was close, and i don't have issues with giving it to judah. the alexander fight wasn't close, and alexander himself beat maidana after losing to matthysse. maidana was another limited fighter, but he beat broner, and gave floyd mayweather one of the tougest fights of his career.

matthysse wasn't an awful fighte,r or a hypejob. he was just a limited fighter who had trouble dealing with accurate punchers who could use the ring and make him move his feet.

Peterson is a good fighter, I rooted for him vs Khan but he should've lost that fight....the ref made some crappy calls

for the level of opponents he beat in his career, in correlation to the hype he had....he was a hype job

If he was the fighter his fans said he was, he should have beat Garcia and Postol....he was never the fighter they wanted him to be.....Come on man, dude clearly lost to a past prime Zab Judah...that fight right their showed his limitations as did others

In reality Matthyssee was a contender.....A good one......on NSB and to casuals he was a machine, a monster, a beast, a champion without actually beat the champion...the same way GGG is now without having defeated top fighters on a regular basis like Garcia who gets crapped on but had/has not near the hype but a far better resume
