Estrada is elite or close to elite. Gonzalez' win over him is more impressive than any one fighter on Ward's resume.
do you even know what the word elite means???

    Who said anything about GGG?

Elite means persons of the highest class:the choice or best of anything considered collectively, as of a group or class of persons.

After Joe Calzaghe retired, the best super middleweights have been Carl Froch and Kessler....He beat both as the underdog and also both were at the top of their divison, both have been p4p entrants....so they meet the criteria of being labeled elite

I agree Estrada is elite...Now...... but I disagree with the win being more impressive considering when the fight happened. Estrada was highly ranked and never held a title at that point and his best win Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr. who also beat him.

Kessler only lost to ATG calzaghe and was unified champion before he ever fought Ward....his other loss is to Hall of fame bound Froch which happened afterwards...before he lost to Ward he had already defeated half a dozen current or future titlists

Before Froch fought Ward he had a better resume than Estrada when he fought Chocolatito as well.....with wins over Pascal, Taylor and Robin Reid

Arthur Abraham was never an elite super middleweight but he was an elite middleweight and defended his IBF strap ten times and beat competition on par or better than GGG, since you brought him up...Abraham was knocking guys out at 160 and was undefeated there with a record of 30-0 (25 kos)

All 3 are/were elite fighters(Froch, Estrada and Kessler)

Some people here trying to diminish Ward's win over Froch - that is equally dumb. Froch wasn't elite but he was bloody good. Ward has very solid wins but has not defeated an elite fighter. Kovalev is in a similar situation as BHop was no longer elite in his late 40s and Pascal although not shot is a lesser version than he was at his peak.
Whether a fighter is "elite" or not is kinda up to the individual judging. I never considered Froch elite. I never considered Dawson elite. But both were considered P4P at certain points in their careers. Dawson when he fought Ward. Froch afterwards. So it can easily be argued that Ward has beaten elite fighters.

That's kinda a slippery slope though. I don't think you can base your entire judgement on a fighter in whether he's beaten an elite fighter or not. There's not a lotta elite fighters around. So sometimes you have to base it on how dominant a guy us against good competition.

Froch is an exciting guy to watch, but because Ward beat him, hes overrated to death. I too remember he was losing to Taylor. Great come from behind win for Froch, but the way these dudes elevate all the members of the Super Six to prop up Ward is ridiculous. When the tourny was first announced, hardly any of these guys were excited because they didn't see any of these fighters as great. This was coming of the Joe Calzaghe reign. But suddenly, ward wins, and 168 was the best division of the last decade.

Ward won a gold medal in the Olympics, won the Super Six, and ruined Chad Dawson. Hasn't lost a fight since he was fourteen years old.

If Golovkin had a resume that good certain posters on here would already be calling him the greatest middleweight of all time.

          The double standards are disgusting.

Golovkin's best scalp (Murray) couldn't beat Ward's 4th best scalp (Abraham).

That tells you all you need to know about Golovkin's 10-year career. It's a facade. A lie. A media creation.

Never claimed Ward lost any fight. First lets see Ward fight ANYBODY. Then lets see him fight Kovalev. THEN we can entertain your verbal diarrhea and incessant non-sense. Turd Breath.

ward was the clear favorite against froch. anywhere from -400 to -500. stop trying to revise history.

i also notice how you didn't mention how he had every fight in his home country in the super six while froch had to fight in 4 countries. what a fair tournament huh? that doesn't sound like ward at all....but i'm sure it doesn't matter right? because he would have been able to cheat, hold, and headbut in other countries too because that's how "smart" of a boxer he is
