It's much more likely that Golovkin loses to someone in Canelo's resume than Canelo losing to someone in Golovkin's resume.

the guy comes in past 160 after rehydration how many years now?
he's been fighting past middleweight for years on fight night fighting opposition who also come in or past middleweight.
this is just stretching out pay days while dangling the carrot in front of fans for a potential GGG fight similar to how floyd and manny did fans for five years. both floyd and manny fought so many guys before fighting each other yet each fight they fought not against each other held promise to fans that if you keep watching floyd and manny not fight each other, eventually we will give you the fight you want.

hopefully they dont take 5 years to milk and marinate this fight.

According to Canelo's camp he's not full MW. Also to my knowledge he hasn't faced a true MW opponent yet.
