Stop it. You're being overly dramatic. The WBC is a corrupt organisation. Yesterday, today & tomorrow they were/are/will be the same. All the alphabet groups are. And no one gives a f#ck really is the reality.

That said I think either of your options, gifted belt or step aside $ are within the realm of possibilities, but I feel like another warm up fight is in the mix of options too.

Near parties going on at venues from the starting fight til the last fight. No f#cks given about L's. Better access to athletes for fans. FOTN/KOofTN bonuses. Winner/loser purses. Could probably name a dozen more things if I thought about this a lil longer.

The UFC's last two PPV's, no numbers on the one Saturday yet, sold over a mill & boxing biggest fight not involving Floyd or Manny is still at 900k last I heard. To act like the UFC isn't doing something right in the getting hit in the head business is naive or just ******. Boxing needs to change its marination strategy. People under 35 who are cool with waiting 6 months to a year for a fight is a dying species of people.
      Co-sign, sir.
Boxing has some compelling fights out there and that's the frustrating part. It's the only thing that keeps the fan base from completely eroding--faith in reform of the system.
"No ****s given about L's" is massive and often understated. Import that mindset from UFC (and boxing's history), and we'll start to get a more nuanced, interwoven sport. Now, it's broken apart into warring factions--and unfortunately the warring factions are promoters, not the fighters.

Btw, Conor cleaning out the featherweight division, and then publicly indicating his ambition to clean out the lightweight division, and then go back and forth guarding both divisions simultaneously is the ****.
I'd love to see Canelo or GGG do something similar. **** catch weights.

Another reason why Canelo doesn't need GGG as much as GGG needs him. He can open up a brand new arena on the strip and will sell it out for what amounts to a stay busy showcase fight as he eases into the middleweight division. Maybe GGG can sell out the smaller arena at Madison Square Garden if he is lucky.
GGG needs to realize if a Canelo fight happens he is going to have to agree to Golden Boys terms or no fight.

Always knew it was going to be a victory lap type of fight but Monroe or Rosado....DAMN!!

Good for Canelo to open up the arena but if its a crap fight like they are suggesting then why bother. Canelo took over reigns as top draw and face of sport. This isnt a good way to start

Surprised at how so many people call Cotto vs. Canelo a success. The predictions were 1.5 mil a couple of weeks before the fight. When the pre-orders started coming in it was revised down to a million. After the fight Oscar said he was confident it'll do over a million. Don't get me wrong, 900k is a solid number but underperformed pre-fight predictions. It's going to be hard for Canelo to hold those Mexican holiday dates if he doesn't step up his level of competition. Vegas doesn't care how big of a star you are if you can't bring in the gamblers. They'll send him to the Thomas and Mack and bring in a big draw at the MGM.

Great numbers for Cotto vs Canelo

GGG will be coming down to 155 or 157 to fight Canelo. GGG needs a marque name and a big payday. They'll probable fight in May 2017 would be my guess.

                      GGG Fans = POS HYPOCRITES!!!
They are a disgusting fan base.

At least Canelo build up a great resume first before choosing a Rosado or a Monroe.
