Depends if Mayweather continuing to fight. I don't see any fights in 2016, but if he comes back and fights through 2017-2018, let's say Pacquiao again and a top PBC welterweight, he would be the obvious choice.

Mayweather is far ahead of everybody but assuming he'll stay retired, that's a lot years not fighting through the entire decade.Ward if he beats Kovalev and continues to dominate. Canelo for the same reasons if can defeat GGG.

Mayweather is retired and was boring lately.
Fury fights are boring, and likely he will loose to either Joshua or Wilder. But in the heavyweights, i pick Joshua to break out and become the next number one heavyweight.
André Ward is too old to be the guy, and likely he will fight once a year or less, all against poor competition.
Canelo is tough, but is not close to have the skills of a Mayweather, he would probably loose going up to fight GGG.
GGG is very good, he got a chance, but still i want to see him get tested by a top level opponent and take some risk maybe going up a division.
Kovalev is also there to stay, i dont see anyone to beat him in his division, but he likely won't move up or down.
Crawford wont only stay in one division, he will probably dominate everything between the 135-145, he is skilled and spectacular, he got everything to be the next fighter of the decade.

So far, in the first half, it's between Pacquiao, Wlad, Mayweather and maybe add in Hopkins for remarkable longevity and GGG and Kovalev for such brutal physical domination.

I can't be bothered to put them in order right now but those are the names for contention right now.

Out of the the other guys, Canelo, Bradley, Khan/Brook (depending on how they do in the coming years, especially Khan as he has a great base at 140 to build on) and of course, a certain Anthony Joshua.

GGG if some of these pussays grow some cojones.

My second vote would go to Kovalev.

They said Fighter Of The, not Dehydrated Fighter Of The . Dehydrated Fighter Of The Decade is Floyd no doubt.

It's whoever could string up some great wins in 2018 and 2019. Pac did that and it's the reason why he won the last fighter of the decade. Well, that and Floyd's mini retirement.
