Why are so many pure boxers or former boxers picking Byrd over Wlad?

Whats up people. Im new to the board and don't post much but I have to say that i think most of you all are reading to much into the race thing. The way I see It Byrd has a great chance to win because he is the more consistant fighter. What you see is what you get when it comes to Byrd. Although Wlad is much more talanted, He is the definiton of a skitphrenic boxer. Germany gives him an edge even if the best Wlad does not show up.

Originally posted by S0UTHPAWPossible, but I highly doubt it. Wlad had enough energy for 12 rounds against Byrd back when he still spent too much time in the weight room and not enough time in the ring. Now Manny has him ready to go 12.
For Wlad to gas out, I really think Byrd is going to have to put a lot of pressure on Wlad, which I just do not see working. If Wlad wants to take alittle rest, he can just sit outside a jab. If Byrd really finds a way to hurt him (which I doubt), Wlad knows how to grab. It is just a complete sytle disaster for Byrd.
That being said, if Wlad wants to show he is not just another belt holder, he needs to knock Byrd out. With out a knock out he is just another big white guy with a belt
.....Darn good analysis sir.

Originally posted by Asian SensationNah, thats simply not true. Wladimir has been much more impressive as of late than has Byrd. Byrd hasn't looked impressive since he won the title against Holyfield. Wladimir's style just simply dictates for another dominant Klitschko performance.

I remember everyone saying Castillo was going to knock Wlad out. Then Peter was going to knock Wlad out. And now they're grasping straws and saying "Chris Byrd" is going to stop him.
Just wait ****ers. He's going to own the IBF/IBO belts after Byrd. And then simply walk through Sergei, Brewster in a rematch, Valuev, Rahman, Toney, Maskaev, Ruiz, Brock.
Bookmark this post damn it.
and as a fighter peter is a p.o.s.
anyone who can box while putting pressure on wlad will win.

Originally posted by mECHsLAVEThat's it in a nutshell. Not only is Wlad the better fighter, I think, but he is more exciting than Byrd, by a factor of 10. Byrd has squatted on his belt for awhile now, and god help us if he somehow gets the win against Wlad. That's it for the IBF belt. Byrd will either retire (likely) or squat on it like a sitting hen, fighting nobodies and squeaking out ugly decisions. Byrd would totally rule out a rubber match, I'm sure.
Wlad winning the title will lead to unification bouts and other exciting matchups like his bout with Peter last year. Wlad has his flaws, but he's a big exciting puncher who isn't afraid to take on tough fights, that's for certain.
