The problem Warren has is that there are a serious lack of interesting options for BJS that would capture the UK publics imagination looking at the rankings, other than an Andy Lee rematch. I think the K2 money could play a significant factor here. Equally they may play it until After GGG fights Canelo for the full unification where there would be more money and interest.

Yeah, how many fights has he had where he was losing more rounds than his opponent?
In fact, how many fights has he had where he lost more than 2-3 rounds to his opponent?
Oh, he gets tagged in the Monroe fight--- and suddenly he can't fight on the inside?
Do you realize how ****** you sound? If he couldn't fight on the inside, and if he had crappy defense, he wouldn't be so dominate right now in his division/amateur career. He doesn't have top-end speed for a boxer, and his power is good, but not a 1-hit quitter like Foreman. So what does he have that makes him dominate every opponent, and a dominant amateur?
If he doesn't have a fight against another titlist, he has no choice but to face his mandatory otherwise he can lose his IBF title. Yeah, you really are ****** aren't you?Comment

i dont like the fight..bc billy is tired by 6 cant punch and really has nothing for a great fighter...u can say hey but it is a unification...floyd vs chino was also a unification i'd like people to revisit their opinions on that...
but
u're right about the bold, just like lemule he is not good enough to ensure that he can keep title so he better not take the title and run...he better take the money and run!
This way the Canelo fight is for all the marbles.
Although, Canelo shouldn't get a shot at full unification at no 155. That would be a disgrace to the sport.Comment

GGG is dominant against ****ty competition. His best win to date is Daniel Geale, maybe Lemieux, which is worse. You do know that educated fight people are capable of seeing holes in a fighter's game, even in fights he wins. And translate those wholes and how better fighters would expose them. Which is why as far back as the Mosley fight, a fight Pacquiao dominated, most fight people saw how a lil lateral movement and a constant jab exposed holes in Manny that night. Most people saw how Omar Navarez subtle defense exposed holes in Donaire's offensive and defensive games. And how when in with better fighters, goth would likely be beaten. GGG is good, but he's not unbeatable. And he's not perfect. Every fighter has holesComment

He won't fight GGG because he KNOWS he'll lose. Billy Joe deep down doesn't believe he can beat GGG, he's said as much in numerous interviews. So unless they give him a ludicrous amount of money - which they won't, since there's not a ludicrous amount in the pot - it won't happen.
The WBO middleweight rankings are truly terrible, I wouldn't be surprised if Warren greased Paco's palm and got Tommy Langford (ranked 5) a shot at Saunders. But the rankings are truly dreadful, so Saunders needs to try to unify or squeeze in a voluntary against a marketable opponent (Eubank Jr, Lemieux, Cotto, Heiland) in order to make some real money.
Knowing Warren, Saunders will fight Langford, then maybe his mandatory (Magomedov), then a voluntary against an Eastern European no-one's heard of.Comment

I too wish someone better had it, but as a fight that kills time before the September showdown, this is perfect.

Give Saunders the money, knock him TFO of there and take his title. GGG makes more on endorsements and other sources anyway. Just get it done then on to CaneloComment

BJS in April & Canelo in Sept. Make it happen! I'll be there ringside for both of them. This will be a historic year when GGG captures all 5 titles!Comment
