Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Manager Doubts Saunders, Warren Being Serious

Oleg Hermann, manager of IBF/IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin, is shaking his head at the lack of concrete communication from WBO champion Billy Joe Saunders and his promoter Frank Warren.
Saunders captured the title last month with a twelve round majority decision over Andy Lee. Following his win, Golovkin's team sent his promoter a solid offer for a fight to potentially take place on an April date at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

" not serious " ?
You mean..... like you, when you talked utter **** about Ward and then turned him down in 25 minutes flat?
Not a draw, no money, blah blah..... they were factors that you should have considered - because they were highly relevant and just as obvious - when you WERE calling him out..... right ? LMAO
We want to fight Ward, Ward is scared, Gennady would KHTFO, Ward would run from Gennady..... but when Ward accepts their offer IMMEDIATELY after the Smith tuneup, suddenly Andre is not a draw and there is no money for that fight..... like it just suddenly occurred to them LMFAO

If I were K2, I'd save Heiland for later. Of the top 15 WBC challengers, Heiland is probably the best fight that could be made. Eubank is in there too, but between those 2 I think Heiland is the better fight. So why fight him now and then have to do the WBC mando against some slob at a later date? I would save Heiland for when the WBC mando is due, instead of fighting him now and then being stuck with Soro or Ndam in a mando nobody cares about......
Because..... people " care " about Golovkin/Heiland ?
Why not just drop a couple of pounds and fight Canelo ?
He said he could ?Comment

Considering Saunders already said he wouldn't fight Golovkin, what do you expect? You'd need to give the guy impossible money to convince him.Comment

And they shouldn't take BJS serious.
Saunders publicly told GGG to fuc off and said he needed 18 months before he's ready to fight him.
If GGG's next fight isn't Canelo, his team need to spend time negotiating with Daniel Jacobs team. If people have always recognized GGG as the real MW champion then his little mandatory defense against T. Johnson won't really matter will it; especially if he's fighting a much worthy challenger/champion in D. Jacobs.
If you're not fighting Canelo, the next fight HAS to be against Jacobs.Comment

Agreed 100%Having someone make you a big fight offer and saying "I dunno, but I'll ask the guy in a few weeks"
I'd like to see them shoot Jacobs an offer. I find a lot of the 'HBO guy vs PCB guy' talk pointless as there are very few fights big enough to see them working together on. But if Duva can try make the fight with Stevenson then K2 should at least try basic communication with Jacobs, just because it generates enough at this point and is the clear best 160lbers going at it.
This is the fight that needs to happen next. I've heard Jacobs himself do an interview where he said he'd fight GGG if the $$$ is right. Jacobs coach has come out and said a few times they'd love to fight GGG and even gave some numbers.
The only team I haven't heard from through the media is Team Golovkin.
Jacobs can crack; GGG can crack. Let's make the fight happen.
My $$$ is on Jacobs for the upset. If I'm wrong, so be it, but let's make it happen.Comment

Can Heiland make 155? If Canelo keeps insisting on 155 that's limiting his choices. That's why I think it's going to be Rosado. He can make 155Canelo should fight Heiland in May. He's much better than Rosado.
Saunders should fight GGG in April, but I don't blame him if his team decides to go a different route and build him up. That fight will be there as long as GGG takes care of business in April and if he beats Canelo in Sept.Comment

The Fab 4 of Middleweight: Gennady Golovkin, Sebastian Heiland, Nilson Julio Tapia, Matthew Macklin. Obviously some ducking going on there, Macklin did not fight Tapia, and Heiland has fought them all except for GGG which he definitely wants the fight. Golovkin will go 3-0 against them though, soon as Heiland steps fight. It's the best fight that could be made for GGG right now. Can't wait. This fight will solidfy GGG's P4P status as well as further enhance his legacy at MW.Comment
