Comments Thread For: Arum: We Have Not Seen This Pacquiao-Bradley Fight Before

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum understands the frustration from fans who shook their heads when it was announced that Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 knockouts) would face Timothy Bradley (33-1-1, 13KOs) for a third time on April 9th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Most fans were hoping that Pacquiao would select WBO junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford or British star Amir Khan.

We have Bob. TWICE. Maybe tomorrow he'll say he was lying yesterday.

Arum will always be a bag of wind but he saw the same I did and that was a reignited Bradley with the right trainer in Atlas. His combinations and speed were amazing. The corner motivation, Atlas at his classic best, the fight plan. This was the best Bradley I had ever seen. That night I thought Bradley was the best 147 pounder in the world and that he could beat anyone from 140-147, Pac included, especially since Pac would be coming off a long layoff. But I would rather see Pac and Bradley go against other fighters to see something new.

It will be the same damn fight. The winner will be whoever Bob wants to win.

I wish Bradley the best, but let's be honest here, when was the last time we heard this "rejuvenation" talk about a fighter? How did that turn out?

Personally, I don't buy it, but let's hope I'm proven wrong for the sake of the buyers.

Arum is essentially admitting he's the one who's been pushing for the fight all along. But Pacquiao is the one who picked Bradley doe, not me.
