Comments Thread For: Froch: Anthony Joshua Survived The Chin-Check Test

IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch was very impressed with Anthony Joshua's ability to survive a shaky moment in the fight when he was wobbled in the second round of his December 12th grudge match with Dillian Whyte.

The hard punching heavyweight raised his record to 15-0, 15KOs when he stopped Whyte in the seventh round.

I believe Josh has the talent to become a champion sometime. But im not sure Whyte tested Joshs chin? Does he hit hard or something whyte on world level? I only know he landed because people say he did. As I don't think the punch was caught on camera with joshs head snapping back. I only know for sure Whyte landed because Whyte went after him after that punch, assuming he was hurt.

Josh needs to get to the top gradually and should not be rushed. Whyte gave him a competitive test which he passed but I believe he requires 2 or 3 tougher fights in UK and about 2 fights in US. He will be ready for the WBC title after that.

I've never thought AJ's chin might be a problem.

Stamina issues, due to all that bulky upper body muscle he's carrying, is what I think could hold him back.

I haven't read the article but what's the bet that in the end Froch somehow related it back to himself and how he's the best thing to come out of Britain.

The fight over the first 2 rounds was fought at a really fast pace for heavyweights and those are both really big guys in there trading leather so the it's gonna take something out of you....there was more action in the first round then there was the whole of the fury klitchko fight....what I liked about Joshua is he took the shots to the chin and some of those would have dropped other heavyweights and then he regrouped and by the 6th round his composure was back and he dominated an unbeaten fighter who could also ****....there was a lot of needle in this fight and it probably used up a lot of nervous energy which took a lot out of each fighter...I think it was a good performance

Carl Froch def reads this forum. I wrote a thread that addressed this directly weeks ago, and most of the Brits who frequented the post had not even heard of the term chin check. I still feel the same way I did weeks ago, AJ did not pass the chin check, he just didn't do it.
