  • Comments Thread For: Uchiyama Stops Flores In Three; Walters Clash Eyed For Spring

Takashi Uchiyama continued his New Year's Eve tradition of defending his super featherweight crown, the latest coming in a three-round destruction of overmatched Oliver Flores. A body shot was enough to force the visiting challenger to wilt in the third round of their headlining act Thursday evening in Tokyo, Japan.

Fortuna is one of those rare fighters that I like to call a rubik's cube. Meaning, a style very difficult to solve like Ward, Mayweather. Cant wait to see Fortuna, Uch, and Walters fight to see who the best is.

Some great fights shaping up here for this year. Can't wait, although Uch is getting long in the tooth and hasn't been looking as good recently.

i highly doubt that world level guys go down on one body shot..it always changes look at cotto..he was putting guys away..that changed even at 140..
i just hope the wba does their job and gives fortuna his shot.

Not that I don't think Fortuna deserves it, but he is not the mandatory according to the WBA website. Mandatory challenger is actually vacant at 130. Sadly in the WBA's crazy world, being the regualr champ does'nt make you the mandatory for the Super champ even though a super champ is suppose to be unified, which Uchiyama is'nt. The WBA seriously gives me ****ing headaches.

I'd like to see Uchiyama in against a better quality opponent. Been wanting that for years actually.
