    Canelo-Golovkin is a meaningless mismatch.

It's meaningful to the 1m+ that would pay to see the biggest fight in the sport, 2p4pers going at it for 3 belts and lineal.

        • Money talks bull**** walks~ but I do question how much Saunders is worth at this exact moment and is overpaying him now the proper move. Right now Saunders even with the WBO doesn't mean much, if he defends a couple times the belt has more meaning.

They used money as an excuse to duck Ward/Lara..... but somehow managed to find money to make a huge offer to Saunders.

Golovkin is fighting the guys he thinks that he can beat, and he is avoiding the guys who could give him trouble. He is the very definition of a manufactured fighter.
I'll bet you GGG pummels Canelo and Jacobs. No one stopping him in the next 3 years

It would mean more to me if Canelo was a full-sized middleweight. Instead he is a 155 lber. Trust me, he doesn't shrink to 155 lbs. just for fun. With that said, even if he was a full-fledged middleweight, Golovkin is just more skilled and talented than him. It will be a big money fight for sure, but in boxing nowadays, big money rarely equals historical relevance.

He was just asking Cotto for 156 so its not like 155 is easy, when he's gaining 20lbs fight night. But you'll find most boxers will go for the biggest money and exposure by far, rather than some "historical relevance" that funny enough involves a guy who's made himself totally irrelevant for years now. All those MW belts don't hurt either, a full unification is rare and noteworthy

or are you still using something he said 3 and half years out of context? we know when he said i'll fight anyone at 154-168 he was serious and tried to fight guys like froch and ward who turned him down. then he made the more recent statement of staying at 160 but you completely ignore that because it doesn't fit your agenda.

Yes, I remember that bull**** quite well.

They attempted to change tack on their "anyone from 154-168" schtick back when Ward was kicking in their front door..... they issued an urgent press release stating that Golovkin is solely focused on unifying at middleweight..... and that Ward was not an option.

They changed tack like that because folks were laughing at them for demanding that 164lb catchweight.

Then, 5 minutes later..... they IMMEDIATELY flip-flopped and stated that Gennady would do ANYTHING to fight Froch at 168

At 160 NOW, I agree with you.

But I also know that 1) Ward beats Golovkin EASY..... 2) Canelo likely beats Golovkin at 155..... and, 3) Lara gives him grief and makes him look ordinary in spots, regardless as to the result.

Which is why he won't fight them.

Lara needs to step up to 160. Im not gonna predict **** when I haven't seen him fight at 160. Same with CAnelo, that ***** can't beat GGG with or without the catchweight. And Ward is an inactive light heavyweight so thanks for being irrelevant
