Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Promoter: Big Offer Made To Saunders For April
Collapse

Frank Warren: "We have been in communication with Gennady Golovkin's people who have approached us with a firm offer of a unification fight.
I know Billy Joe has intimated he may not be quite ready for this but money talks louder than anything in boxing and such are the sums involved it is one worth considering."
@brendan_chubz may be but I'll be 6 mill heavy

Mr @TomLoeffler1 asked if £4 mill was offered to BJ for GGG: "Can't officially confirm any number, but it is a significant offer" #boxing

Think HBO may have stepped up the investment of this fight to help the marketing of the Alvarez fight.
How about #GGGvsSaunder in April and #GGGvsCanelo in Sept sound? Gives Canelo some time to gain those 5 pounds

I hope GB keeps Tureano Johnson busy with another couple fights.

But if Saunders is 18months away like he said, and everyone thought that, GGG wouldn't be able to fight anyone. Everyone saying im 18 months away. What does GGG do in the meantime?

Also, the high offer is only because Saunders has a belt. Its the last one Golovkin needs (assuming the Canelo fight is going to happen).
Its pretty much impossible with the politics to hold all 4 belts in a division (5 when including the IBO) and Golovkin has a real chance to do it.
The amount of money he is spending on sanctioning fees to achieve this must be astronomical.
