im not upset at all with floyd at how he fought pac..he fought like he always does..i just cant award him this award as a hardcore fan after he digressed to berto...all he needed was one more solid win..he could have picked lamont peterson caliber since we are speakin of him..but instead he took a high road and u can expect 1 great win to outdue ppl who had 2 great/good ones..

Beating Andre Berto gets you fighter of the year. Soto Karass must be very happy right now.

Mayweather? Really, Mayweather?? Well if he wins FOTY next year, I'll be pissed!

I guess it makes sense for Mayweather to get it. He was definitely the biggest winner in almost every aspect. My vote would've been for Canelo but it's hard to argue with the Boxingscene choice.

This wasn't a hard decision. Mayweather/Pacquiao was the Super Bowl of boxing. You would think the winner would be fighter of the year.

I applaud Sports Illustrated and Boxingscene for picking the right man.

Nothing wrong with the choice. Mayweather beat the best fighter of his career and the biggest fight boxing has seen in 15 years or so.

Agreed. Good call by both, this is an example of why they are seen as having reputable and objective boxing coverage.

Its a much better pick than Tyson Fury If it wasn't going to be Floyd I think they'd have definitely picked Golovkin.
