Floyd had a better resume than GGG by the time he was 24 years old and only 27 fights in.....having been lineal champion, shouldve held the IBF as well but they stripped undefeated Corrales...He defended the lineal title 8 times at 130

After the same amount of fights GGG has today, he was a lineal title holder in 2 weight classes, 11 total defenses and won a major title in a third weight class

How about GGG move up 8 pounds.... or to 175 is 15 pounds up the scale and GGG comes in over 170 on fight night

whereas when Mayweather turned pro @ 130 and below and you expect him to go up two weight classes from his last fight, after having fought in 5 from 130-154?????

that just shows how great some of his detractors think he really is, when the number 3 pound for pound fighter and boogeyman isnt expected to move up but a guy in his 4th weight class should
Spot on! these cats do not realize the level of respect they are actually giving Mayweather - Duran Fought Hagler when he was like 31/ 32 years old. Floyd is like 39! GGG gets a ****** pass, and when its all said and done, and everyone goes back to analyze his career, you will see that he never fought any real threats, now my eyes tell me his is a very good fighter, but will he dare to be great? they want someone who is 5'7 and started his career at 130 to fight a career Middleweight who started his career 30 pounds heavier..... Now if Mayweather was in his early
30's I bet he would entertain it, but not at 39!

Why did you delete the post? Why are you moving goalposts? Either way, it's all settled. He's the best of the era, and nothing you say or do now can change that.

yet....the most feared fighter on the planet cant go up to the next weight class even though he weighs over the 168 limit on fight night

Duran was taking losses to fringe contenders and journeymen by the time he was in his 30s....Mayweather was still winning titles and defending them and very dominant

Canelo is a better fighter than Kirkland Laing, Robbie Sims, and Pat friggin Lawlor

Duran was great and peopkle glorify the past but he was not consistent once he moved past 135

They need to face the music and let it simmer...Mayweather was the best of the passing era

That's the thing Floyd never took risks, why not take on 160 guys when younger? Why wait till your 39 and then make the I'm too old excuses? Jmm ko,ed pac at 39, older than floyd is now!BH can't use those excuses so why does Floyd, or rather his fans? He could have fought Sergio! Floyd in his prime chose to bloat jmm up and fight past it SSM, who's choice is that?

Duran lost afew fights to nobodies like laing but people assume Duran wasn't at his best or took them lightly. Because at his best and in shape he is pushing the best160 guy ever all the way.
Duran at his best beats Floyd. If Floyd does well against GGG, perhaps Duran at his best don't beat Floyd. Its up to Floyd to change peoples perceptions of him. Floyd is an atg but when you want to be mentioned alongside the real best evers you've got to go above and beyond the call of duty and Floyd's never done that.......yet!

Floyd has the best resume of this era.

                Pacquiao
                Hatton
                Canelo
                Marquez
                Corrales
                G. Hernandez
                Cotto
                Mosley
                Judah

Martinez was indeed shot to pieces and i'm glad we both agree on that but the fact remains that we didn't know how far gone he was until it was revealed he couldn't do any road work at all until 30 days before the cotto fight, that's 14 months he had no miles on those legs but he was still counted a credible threat to Cotto. Cotto was surrounded by hype about being rejuvenated, to hear some people hear say it he still is and was robbed in the Canelo bout. That's two future hall of fame names with countless championship rounds on their resume. Canelo v Cotto just happened but already we see the champion going in the other direction. That's two legendary scalps he got passed on by.

Yes, i've voiced the same opinion myself about Floyd being the best of his class, TBE not even close but he was indeed the best fighter of his generation. Still wish he and pacquaio had fought within a year of the rumblings for a fight to happen started but that's boxing..we wish for a lot of things. Not sure who would've won but it would've been two fighters in their prime.
