Eh idk about Andre Ward Sweepstakes. Maybe like the Andre Ward bingo raffle or scratch off ticket at best. Floyd, Manny & Canelo have Sweepstakes.

Had to laugh too, why isn't an opponent sorted out for Ward? He needs to be seen and active in the ring.

Periban is in no way preparation for fighting Kovalev. Barrera I can see. Lets face it if you can't beat Barrera you are probably gonna be in it life and death with Kov or Stevenson.

Ward is in a tricky situation. He needs to win a title at LHW but he would much prefer to do it the easy way, maybe the top guy could get stripped of one of his titles and he could fight for the vacant title.

Unfortunately Kov's promoter seems to be very well versed in how to get other fighters stripped of titles so presumably she knows the other side of the equation; how to keep her boxers with all their titles.

Horrible fight if it happens!!

I like Ward but this would be a step backwards, it's not good prep for Kovalev and it doesn't reveal enough about how close he is to being back to his best. This choice of opponent, if it happens, is indefensible to me.
