It's a good question and I don't have the figures or stats but Khan has a HUGE ****** fan base. He's a major star in British boxing.

Fact is that despite him having a pokey chin it's always been accepted that he's great box office. Also he's a hard night's work for anyone and has some solid pop. People forget that he had Peterson, Collazo, Zab and Maidana down and is fast. Also he is long armed and can jab. A slower, older Floyd with fragile hands wanted no part of him. A younger Floyd would have his usual way but the later version of Floyd would have fits and lose solidly on points.

Child please it took Danny 1 round to walk Khan down. And Khan trained for a year before the Collazo fight lol. Who has a year long training camp for Luiz freakin Collazo? And all those other fights you named happened like 6 years ago. Khan didn't land the Floyd fight because he wasn't hungry enough to go seize it. Some people love to mention in passing about Khan's money value for opponents, but I've never seen any facts to back it up. No question he's not an unappealing opponent & I think he was legit in the running for 2 of Floyd's last 3 fights, but personally I believe him getting blasted twice would have led to Mayweather getting **** on more than usual if Khan had been picked.

And Khan did himself no favors with his inactivity & careful matchmaking while waiting to be picked. Maidana earned a Floyd fight by beating Broner & by giving Floyd a tougher than expected first fight. I don't believe Berto earned the fight, but in that regard he's just on equal footing with Khan cuz if Khan had gotten the fight he'd have not earned it either so me personally, I was gonna **** on Floyd for that opponent choice if it was Berto or Khan.
