Comments Thread For: David Lemieux vs. Willie Monroe Jr. a Possibility?

The last we saw of both middleweights David Lemieux (34-3, 31KOs) and Willie Monroe Jr. (19-2, 6KOs) they were both getting stopped by IBF/IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin. If Artie Pelullo - who's company Banner Promotions represents Monroe Jr. - had his way, we'd see them in the ring together in the spring of 2016.

This is a good fight. I'm not sure who wins but I'm kinda leaning Lemieux atm.

A very good match-up and a winnable fight for Monroe. All that movement and fast hands will trouble Lemieux. I still think Lemieux will eventually catch up to Monroe and stop him with Monroe ahead on the scorecards.

Good fight, one that I think Monroe Jr would win. I think the guy is a pretty underrated boxer from what I can tell.

Yea, I like the fight..... and I agree with the bold.

Monroe either wins a decision or Lemieux catches him late.

The last we saw of former IBF middleweight belt-holder David Lemieux, he was getting stopped in eight rounds by Gennady Golovkin at the Madison Square Garden on the night of October 17th. Lemieux now looks to rebound from that loss and get back into title contention.

I think Lemieux is short on talent but Monroe shows promise. Might be a good stepping stone for him. From what I understand, he needs the money anyhow.
