that should tell you enough of what you're dealing with.
You're partially right. American fight fans are blood thirsty for a great fighter period. That's why Mike Tyson and Pacquiao were watched and cheered for. It has nothing to do with their skin colors. They fought people expected a KO or an exciting fight. When Fraud fought, people were left feeling cheated.

Don't give me the damn race card, especially the way ******* America is right now and the pussification of this country.

they were left feeling cheated because they want to see him bloody, bruised, and taking a loss

not because he was boring, or not getting knockouts....Mayweather took out a lot of other countries, nationalities, and cultural heroes

Before Mayweather moved to welterweight he had a 70% knockout ratio and wasnt talking trash at all as pretty boy floyd.

When he saw lesser fighters like Gatti making big bucks and he was the best at 140 and down thats when it started talking that trash

Racism and seperatism is two of the principles this country was built using. Boxing is also a racially and nationally driven sport...Its funny how America acts like Racism isnt an issue when we treat people of color worse than any other country. I've done a lot of traveling and have family and friends that travel. A lot have never come back because in America.

Look at the dreams he crushed, countries and fans....Hatton for the Brits....ODLH for the chicanos....Cotto the Boricuas....Marquez and the mexicans.....Pac and the filpinos

America cant relate to a black man who makes the most money, makes it look easy, says what he wants too, and can **** your girl

they couldnt stand it with Jack Johnson 100 years ago....Ali 50 years ago...so what makes you think it isnt true in regards to Floyd

Race plays a huge part in boxing

Yup. Can't understand why black people cant see that the percentage of racists in their group is equal to the amount in every other group. Never mind the fact that race is a social construct that only racist idiots buy into (every human is made up of the same elements).
There are racists who hate Floyd bc of his skin color--no doubt. Just as there are racists who hate Pac for the same reason.
But get sent to prison, and give the inmates advance notice of you beating your wife in front of your son. You'll see really fast that race has zero to do with your treatment thereafter.
Pac is a gambler, womanizer, cheater, etc...so?! Other than ******ed religious people, who considers these things that anyone outside of that person's household should care about?
But a repeated spousal abuser (read it in his own son's words), and all of a sudden people hate Floyd bc he's black. SMH.
Conor & Ronda got hype, but anyone who follows the sport knows that TONS of people are/were cheering for someone to KO them--tons!!! Gotta be bc they're white.
This board is full of racists on both sides (often those too ****** to see their own racism, which is even worse)

neither one of them are saints

Pac's personal issues was not put on display and you had to be a hard core fan to even know of the things he did

as an american citizen and knowing my history.....Black Athetes who are far and away better than their competition, who make it look easy, who make the most money, talk trash and back it up is not something the "American" public can relate too...

100 years ago Jack Johnson was the heavyweight champion and got kicked out of his own country. Some people think he threw that fight with Willard just to regain entry into the country

50 years ago Ali was in his prime, a black ******, brash and no one on the horizen could mess with him and he was getting better each fight out....what does america do? they draft the heavyweight champion of the freaking world....for what? Because he was a black ****** who supported Malcolm X and a movement where blacks were not passive and spoke his mind...they took the mans prime away and means for providing for his family..white people couldnt relate to some kid, who didnt fight like a rock em sock em robot and made it look easy...america likes a good loser, better than an outright winner...ala Gatti

Now Mayweather is the corprit....black, makes it look easy, talked trash, backed it up and beat the best every country had to offer

they'll be beloved when their broke and brain damaged but not when they are in the mist of their career and kicking ass and taking names

You'll hear no argument from me that this country has been fed racial propaganda for centuries, and that has not helped its perpetuation into the 21st century. But since you bring him up, I'd encourage you to watch the most famous Malcolm X documentary, Make It Plain, and you'll VERY clearly bear witness to the evolution in Malcolm's thinking. He started his career being a puppet for "the prophet" Elijah Muhammad going around talking about how blacks were better than whites, and how whites were all Devils (literal Devils) and on and on. Keep watching into the last 30 minutes, and it's fascinating to witness his transformation from being a hateful racist into being a humanist.
He came to realize that there is no such thing as race. And religion is nothing more than a vehicle for the perpetuation of racist ideologies & subjugation of poor people. This is what got him killed. Whether it was at the behest of Elijah or Washington elites, it doesn't matter. The powerful elites wanted him dead for espousing such an idea (same w MLK).
Youll notice that no presidential candidate has ever tried to argue that any of the abrahamic religions is utter nonsense, and that race is merely a social construct.
They're well aware of what happens to their protection when they speak their actual minds.
You seem like a nice enough person, but for you to make such a hasty generalization as white people just don't want to see a black man be successful is not only reductive, but beyond absurd. What white people?
There is NO SUCH THING as white or black. It's all made up. And the only reason racism continues to exist beyond the eras you referenced is because people like you continue to fuel it by pre-conceding that there is such a thing as race.
The best defense that humanity has against racism is to use science to disprove its validity. Period.
The millennials are evolving slowly but surely, my friend. You should join us on this side. It's more fun over here.

im not saying all white people, just the bigots with their agendas.

Also some of the media, etc.....Im all for one race...the human race....but as long as there are bigots there will be racism

Its already proven we all have the same mitochondrial ancestors

Doesnt change the fact the we have ignorant people, many of them in positions of power, who control the media and how people are seen or viewed

Seriously...though "American Media" relates to struggle...they like Rocky Stores....fighters or athletes who struggle to reach the same goal and destination that a black fighter does with pizzaz and style like an Ali or Apollo Creed....they cant relate to a fighter who kicks ass and takes name

Fair enough. Bigots unfortunately tend to be the loudest voices. It sucks bc I'm multiracial and experienced racism coming from many groups--grew up in an all black, then all brown, then all white neighborhood as my mom moved up the socioeconomic ladder.
My city, Dallas, is entirely segregated, BUT those lines are starting to blur as income inequality gets worse and worse. Some rightfully hate it, but I see an unintended consequence in pushing 90% of the population into closer quarters, as it's harder to hate most people (regardless of skin color, sex, income, age, nationality, sexuality, physical ability, level of intelligence, height, weight, physical attractiveness, etc...), once you interact with them on a regular basis.
Millennials are evolving quicker than any prior generation. I teach at a college, and love watching this social transformation take place.
Not a semester goes by that I don't heavily expose students to "dissident" voices, in the hopes that it breaks down the awful scar that nonsense like racial identity has had on humanity.
                Peace

Its up to our generation to keep the change going... Im 31 and have a 12 year old son......My mom grew up in segregated Alabama. Raising me and my siblings in a military city like Columbus softened her stand on racism. All my friends growing up were mixed, my first girl friend was chinese.

People always ask....what are you mixed with....you dont look like a regular black person....lol Africans and people of their descent are the most diverse group of people on earth....all shades, hair textures, and different physical features depending on geographical region.

I can relate.... Im from "Columbus" Georgia but the County has the name of the original inhabitants...the muscogee...the explorers named them Creek indians....my great grandmother was born on a reservation in Henry County Alabama..they moved north to Russell County when they were moving the people of color who didnt by there land to stay

.Her mom was labeled Mulatto(she was a light skinned black woman) and my great great grand father was a fulled blood Mvskoke(muscogee).....my grand father on my dads side is over half black and cherokee

they were so confused back in the day how to label people of color that all the census of found with my great great grandmother had her as black, mulatto, one even had her as white because she was light skinned. Thank God her Daughter lived til she was a 100 years old and we could get the truth from out elders and public records.

I consider my self a Native American...thats a nationality...my race is human........I was born here and if I was born generations ago, I'd probably still have been here....most people dont know there history....the school system doesnt help because All history told in Southern Schools teach no black history in america before Columbus even though there is undisputed proof Africans came before Europeans....hell we were most of there navigators and the Olmecs in mexico wrote the same language as the Mende people in Africa

we will never be any where being seperate or labeling each other

Not sure what you mean by "clean slate?" So boxers need to have a clean slate in order to be appreciated for what they do better than anyone? Ah, I see, so Mayweather has to pass a strict test outside of the ring and possess qualities that have nothing whatsoever to do with his skills? Right, so now you can't just be good at the sport you're dedicated to you have to meet some dumb ****'s criteria for behavior outside of the ring too?
What the **** are you rambling about? People appreciate his skill. I don't care what a few random facebook ****s say on his page, anyone TKSAB acknowledges Mayweather is an ATG.

You try to make Mayweather's case a race issue: it's not. Mayweather gets disrespect from his repeated history of domestic violence/abuse/other antics outside of the ring. Mayweather is not a role-model individual, and he doesn't need to be, but don't expect him to be walking around without receiving any hate or dislike and try claiming it as racially motivated.

If you want to bring up a race issue, I suggest bringing up names like Leonard or Roy and making your point there. At least these two guys don't have the notoriety Floyd does, and it's easier to argue against why anyone would hate them.

No, but let's all play the implicit race card because...you know, it's Tuesday.

Read Floyd's son's detailed description of what it was like watching his dad repeatedly beat his mom. Then, you'll get a sense of why people hated this guy.
white people HATED tyson holyfield(not as much) and roy jones and ALWAYS criticized them IN THAT TIME FRAME.
but evander was more of a "do boy" for white folks so they took it easy on him
