Algieri served his purpose. He made Manny look good, but he was way out of his league! People gave Mayweather more **** for fighting Berto than they gave Manny for fighting Algieri. To put it into perspective:

Promoter Lou Dibella told the media that he would love to match Algieri in his next fight with former welterweight world champion Andre Berto, but Jackson feels he needs one more camp before Algieri gets in there with the bigger names.

“I rather fight somebody else, not that I don’t think we can beat Berto but I think we need one more fight under our belt and then we can go after Berto.”
