Pound for Pound who has the greatest left hook to the body today?

Right here we go. I've been looking at some of the fights that he had when he was WBU champion. His fight with Tony Pep in the third round he knocks Pep down with left hooks to the body twice. He stops Jason Rowland with a left hook to the body. Leaves Freddy Pendleton rolling in pain from a left hook to the body, finishing the fight. Does exactly the same to Joe Hutchinson, in doing so finishes the fight. Aldo Rios gets finished off with a left hook to the body. Pederson gets knocked down twice from left hooks to the body in the fourth round. Mike Stuart gets knocked down in the first round from a left hook to the body. from Pep to Stuart thats about 25% of his career. I probably have'nt covered all the left hooks but I did my best. Ok he didnt stop every one of these fighters with his left hook to the body, but in almost every circumstance it paved the way for victory. Its his signature punch alright. Im not sure he did AS well with it in the beginning of his career. But he's got better with it as he's gone along. I'd be interested to see examples of other fighters hooks

This was quite a list to choose from.J.L.C. and Hatton are both vicious body punchers but I had to go with Cotto because of the power he puts into his left hook.

yup, i think ricky has more knock downs with body shots than all of the other guys on the poll combined. cotto doesnt have a single punch that ricky doesnt throw better.

Yep, Hatton is by far the best body puncher on that list (unless your a ******, ofcourse). It's what he's been famous for for God knows how many years, and he does it better than anybody.

The last time was 4 fights ago against Mike Stuart. tszyu was a big step up and against Oliveira and mausa he opted to take them out to the head

This has been hashed out a million times.

Cotto, when he chooses to throw the left hook, throws it with more precision and power than does HAtton. Hatton's is incorporated into his attack more often as he's a more dedicated body puncher at this phase of his career than is Cotto. This is not to say that HAtton doesn't have a mean left hook as well, but it doesn't have the damaging force that Cotto's does.

I can't see Hatton destroying someones ribcage, arm, and jaw the way Cotto did Branco.

That's my second pick next to Cotto.

I suppose size is decieving....and Cotto by default throws harder punches.

But M.A.B.'s is an automatic attack, that seems to follow any major combination he throws.
