I think Golovkin is very good and could be great but 160 is a barren wasteland as far as talent goes. So much so that the super fight of the division is with a guy who hasn't fought above 155. There are some guys that hate Golovkin because he's white but let's not act like there aren't guys who love him solely for the same reason lol... It's boxing scene after all.

Say what you want, but Sergio doesn't belong to the "NSB folklore" and he thinks Golovkin is off the charts. I think he knows a bit about the MW division. Hard to include him in the group of Golovkin fanatics, right?

Is it so hard to accept?

Sergio Martinez is all druged out on them pain killers from the knees chavez jr destroyed and his letting HIS truth out cause it this is true of Martinez he refused to even speak about GGG when he was king kong lol. Stop putting your insecurities and fears on someone else you cripple, all GGG has to do is say yes to the terms and he may be blessed by CANELOLUJAH!

it's an absurd standard that no other boxer in the sport barring mayweather would be held to. most top boxers right now aren't even trying to fight the best in their own division, never mind the one above them
Forget the name callings that fans do with boxers, they do that to all boxers that gets a bit of hype, I still don't get the "absurd high standards" that he is held to, I for one rate him quite high, I think he is wasting his talent at 160 because there is zero challenges for him there, his only hope would be for Canelo to somehow brave it and fight him at 160, I like the fact that he is good enough to move up and I would put him up there to beat anyone at 168... If that is an "absurd high standard" then maybe he isn't as good as am rating him.

Agreed 100%, if Golovkin himself doesn't seem to believe in his talent to move up 8lbs... Maybe as his fans, they/we should begin to stop holding him at such a high standard!

Well, Sergio knowing the division pretty well said that GGG is off the charts. He never said he needed to face better opposition to prove something. To those who can understand reality and aren't hated oriented, it's pretty clear that GGG is off the charts. And that's the primary reason he's being avoided at 160.

If he moves up to 168 and loses to someone, all you will say is: "see? he wasn't that good. When he faced opposition he lost". That's all you want from him.

He can make more money at 160 than at 168 so I understand why he stays there. And its his natural division, he doesn't have any problems in making weight and probably never will, so what's the urgency? just to prove you haters that he's worth? everyone knows he is.

So ironic for Sergio to chime in on this. Gennady was Pavlik's WBO mandatory before Sergio fought Pavlik. It was because Golovkin's promoters never pushed for that fight that Gennady left Universum in February 2010. The rest is history.

Sergio went on to beat a diminished Pavlik, then avoided Dmitry Pirog for next couple years. Martinez declined Golovkin as an opponent in Argentina over Murray and later sold his title to a JMW in Cotto, so that Miguel could pretend to be something he openly admitted that he wasn't - a MW with no intention of ever fighting GGG. Segio's MW reign more/less blocked Golovkin from the opportunity to become the lineal MW champion from the beginning to the end, and it's residual effect continues to do so.

insisting upon something that you fully well know is currently not on the table because it goes against all of his interests is by definition unreasonable. it's absurd because clearly the decision to criticise golovkin preceded the actual rationale they chose to adopt. it's a well established tactic on NSB. it was bull**** when it was directed at mayweather and it's bull**** now that it's directed at golovkin

yeah his only saving grace is that he's at least honest, unlike certain others who have ****blocked golovkin from receiving his rightful opportunities

Chavez Jr was a light heavyweight crapping his brains out to make 160 and moved up because he could no longer find diuretics strong enough to help him make the weight anymore. Without his size advantage he's average.
