I agree. Team GGG should of pushed the WBC and got that coward stripped. GGG has been putting up with this BS for too long. With 4 of the titles any contender including Alvared would have no where to go if they want to campaign at middleweight.

He should have said no in retrospect. I hope that Canelo's trainer is just talking crap and the fight can happen at 158 - but I am not getting my hopes up.

I wouldn't say he needs Canelo - it would be better for him if he does fight Canelo but he won't suddenly slip into poverty if he doesn't. You could say if he doesn't fight Canelo then his team will have skipped a step in acquiring greatness but the reality is he would need to beat Canelo to acquire greatness. So the question then is making a fight on fair terms. When you are mandatory at MW then 155 is not fair terms.

Come on now. It is not just GGG fan boys who talk about belts. 99.9% of boxers still think belts are relevant. Look how Wilder talks. Do you think Julius Williams isn't after a belt? Look how Stevenson sits on his belt like a king on his throne. And that is just talking about the top fighters - look at all the thousands of kids in gyms around the world - some of them just aspire to be a state champion or champion of New York - so being a world champion is something the majority of them can only dream about. The few who get to world class level will snatch any belt they can as validation of their sporting prowess. Now tell me belts are insignificant.

There are only a few spoilt b**** who think they are bigger than the entire system and can shit on tradition - traditionally they throw belts in trash cans and speak exclusively about the business and PPV.

Now they have a new excuse, they create new divisions within a division. If you are ok with that and all the chaos it will inevitably lead to then I put it to you that you are not so much a fan of the sport as a fan of a handful of boxers - in other words you are a fanboy.
