I've never called anyone a paper champ you can check my post history. If Canelo vacates then I'll admit that finally a fighter ducked GGG. But he's gonna have to agree to 155. To much pressure from K2 and HBO to get a return on their investment.Comment

for you to say that a mandatory challenger should have to agree to a catchweight only 1 pound higher than the division below shows just how pathetic so-called "boxing fans" are these days. Should a cruiserweight mando have to agree to 176? Why stop there. Maybe small heavyweights should demand 210 catchweights...... gtfoh......Comment

In fairness I might have gotten a bit carried away if I say ALL of the fighters from the beginning of his KO streak were top 25 .... I'm not sure how you easily trace that info - the ranking at the time of the actual fight. See my next post though.Comment

It's just a game certain boxers play to try and gain an advantage. Like when Golovkin asked for a 164 catch weight against Ward.for you to say that a mandatory challenger should have to agree to a catchweight only 1 pound higher than the division below shows just how pathetic so-called "boxing fans" are these days. then why GGG said he would fight Floyd @154 and everybody from 155 to 168, by your logic this would be GGG saying "I'm not as good to beat Canelo @155 or Ward @168, Double standars bro" Now if GGG is so desperate to unify all the belts he could've said no, but the truth is right there, he wants the money, he ain't for the glory, Boxing nowadays is about making money and there's nothing wrong with it.Because negotiations for the fight haven't started yet because they already agreed to make the fight after a voluntary for both.
This is all public talking, but what matters really is what they say in the negotiations table, in private.
If next year Canelo insists with 155 (I think he will be more realistic and offer 156, and then in later stages 157) Golovkin will say no, for sure. I think Golovkin will only accept 159 or 160. Because Canelo will be at least as big as GGG there, so no point in making a catchweight. The catchweight is just a way for Canelo to say, I'm not as good as you, I need to outweight you in order to think that I have a chance to win the fight.
GGG is a great fighter, no doubt about it but he contradicted himself the moment he said ANYONE FROM 154 TO 168, so don't go out there saying that GGG isn't afraid of anybody and he's the second coming of Jesus Christ, hell even Sanchez said they wouldn't fight Lara because he was a no name but they were willing to fight Monroe Jr? GTFOH lies lies and excuses.
You can't defend this **** with the mandatory excuse. PERIOD.Comment

Also.....
1) GGG knows ALLLLL about that, he did the exact same thing to Ward.....
..... AND, he justified the cw demand by saying that he is the A-side.
2) " Nobody at 154, 160 Lasts Twelve With Golovkin ".....
Abel Sanchez, trainer for IBF/IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (34-0, 31 KOs), was not surprised with his boxer's one-sided domination of former IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (34-3, 31KOs) on Saturday night at New York's Madison Square Garden. Golovkin controlled the fight from the first round, with a sharp, hard jab. That jab kept Lemieux from doing much of anything. Golovkin used that punch as a tool to set up his power shots and finally got the TKO win in the eight round.
I don't see the problem.
Oh, unless fans are unwilling - FOR SOME REASON - to hold GGG to his word.Comment

Every other fighter who fails to back up his **** talk, gets criticized.
But Golovkin, gets applauded.
SMH
That's the reason why every top fighter/trainer are saying the same thing.Comment

I didn't say he should have to agree. I said he's gonna have to agree. K2 and HBO are not gonna miss the opportunity for this fight just because GGG doesn't want to give in to the catchweight. Like I said initially. If K2 doesn't want GGG fighting at 155 they'll call for a purse bid.for you to say that a mandatory challenger should have to agree to a catchweight only 1 pound higher than the division below shows just how pathetic so-called "boxing fans" are these days.
