He's disliked (not hated, big difference) because of his recent P4P stardom while having done absolutely nothing to be worthy of a top 5 spot. All he does is knock out bums that he was supposed to knock out.
I'll agree he's overrated, as in, he shouldn't be rated top 3. However, I do believe top 6-8 is a fair ranking. There are no other boxers dominating their divisions as hard as he is, as well as the fact that he is facing all top 20 opponents.

Compare that to the Welterweights, compare that to Wilder, and so forth...

Canelo vs Cotto, Jacob vs Quillen and Lee vs Saunders the most significant fights in the Middleweight division this year.

Look, I'm not going to argue on the basis of some bs ring ranking or whatever crap you come up with. The fact is, in the eyes of most people involved in boxing, Macklin, Geale, Murray and now Lem, were all top mws.

Name me 4 better mws in 2013 than Macklin?

And 4 more for Murray and Geale in 2014/15?

And 4 more for when GGG faced the IBF champ in Lem?

There will always be a ton of ******ed haters when there is someone way more successful and beloved than their own fav fighters. People are just pathetic when it cames to fandom.

They dont love the sport, they just hate alot of fighters and only support a specific type.

Also they try to protect their own fighters and make excuses why they shouldnt face GGG.

They are ANTI fans of the sport.

          No one needs these scum.

97k on PPV ain't nothing to gloat about my friend...

Most of us just want GGG to step up. Not sure how that's being "Anti boxing".

You can't win with fan boys on NSB all they do is deny reality and try to rewrite what's in black and white.

Riight. Most normal people blame ducks, instead of the one being ducked. Big difference. At the end of the day, it's not fans who decide fights. It's ducks and non-ducks. Blaming fans is stooopid.

Objective people are always left with, "What is he supposed to do?"

Who else can even sell 97k, never mind 150k that he sold? A handful of fighters, most near retired. How about sell out venues on both coasts?

he tried to get miguel to fight him dude

you'd take step aside money if they guy wasn't going to fight you anyway. that is exactly what happened.

they want to avoid miguel cotto and stay out of a higher tax bracket for a six figure step aside fee

you guys can't possibly believe this stuff. cotto was the F#cking champion of the division, FFS. fighting him is what they'd have preferred to do. just trust if you don't understand it. it's clear that you do not.

golovkin's got a better resume at MW than cotto, canelo. people don't seem to get that. resumes are compared in a mythical p4p sense only when the guys aren't in the same weight class. when they are, you value wins at middleweight. and when you do that properly, golovkin has better MW wins than canelo and cotto.

cotto had a finished martinez, who blatantly avoided cotto, and geale off of a knockout loss within a year, and at a catchweight where he wasn't healthy.

alvarez has cotto, and that is it for guys who have ever campaigned at MW.

golovkin has been fighting MWs in the top 5 for years now, something cotto and canelo have done on paper only
