team ggg can say all they want to say.....

all this time they were fooling their fans saying that all they want are all the belts blah blah blah..... yet he's taking another step aside fee.... and I don't wanna hear this crap about "well he wont get the fight"... FORCE THE STRIPPAGE like they've been sayin all this time. "Fight GGG next or be stripped of the title".

dude, they can't do that. what do you not understand?

you literally told me you understood it, in the first part of the post

i can't waste my time trying to explain stuff to you guys several times over, man. i don't mind at all trying to help, but you need to recognize that gennady golovkin couldn't force miguel cotto or the WBC to do anything. they wanted the fight. they couldn't get it!. they couldn't "force it!" they have been trying to force alphabets to give them shots since the sturm days.

again, you're screwing up the causality. miguel cotto caused this by refusing to fight golovkin as a mandatory. several fighters have had well documented instances where they did the same thing. golovkin cannot force miguel cotto to fight. couldn't force sergio martinez. couldn't force sturm. do you get it now?

so he couldn't force canelo to fight either?

oh thats right he ACCEPTED a step aside fee (of course im talking about those that he did accept... not sturm) he also wasn't martinez's mando either.

so cotto would have fought golovkin if golovkin didn't take step aside money? that's what you're implying?

uhmmmm, NO he couldnt. He could have forced him to vacate the title (which he will possibly have to do in May anyways), but he cannot force Canelo to FIGHT.

This is often not the fault of the fighter, it just is. In GGG's case he is being touted as a potentially great fighter, and a pound for pound king, but he has not yet got any marquee wins for whatever reason. Normally everyone gets caught up in arguing over the reasons it hasn't happened rather than actually focusing on whether they think he will fulfil those expectations in the future. You know an actual boxing debate?
Good post. I don't really concern myself with why these fights haven't happened. As you said, it's rarely the fault of the fighter.

GGG will get his shot at an elite opponent, probably Canelo in late 2016-17. We'll see what he can do then. I'd favor him to win and if he does, that's an elite fighter on his record to go along with his steady KO's of any challenger in his division. And that would make him possibly the world's best. Until then, I'm kinda indifferent toward his career this far.
