This. Kind of ironic - the guy you beat, in the performance that essentially reinforced why everyone else in the division should duck you, is the only guy not trying to duck you.

    War Nonito!

This is what I don't get, these ****** fugs have been in every Donaire thread saying things like "Donaire is afraid to rematch his daddy", I've seen this type of post numerous times in Donaire threads, now Donaire wants the rematch and it's "*** off Donaire, you already got schooled once".

      Some people are just sad.

Exactly! First they act get on his case thinking he doesn't have enough confidence to take a rematch and then they get on his case because they don't like that he has the confidence to take a rematch!

It's all smoke and mirrors. The rematch will NEVER happen. If all Rigo got the first time was $750K, y'all should know that he would want more money the second time. Rigo would be totally right too... He beat Nonito the first time in a dominating and educated style, yet Bob Arum and HBO hated the way Rigondeaux boxed. A possible win would mean so much more to Nonito, and less to Rigo. Would Bob Arum pay more than 750K to a person that he doesn't favor? Would HBO pay a man that type of money towards a fighter they disfavor on their network?

ROC could change the dynamics, if they want to work out a deal, it'll get worked out, otherwise it won't.

I believe Nonito is interested. How interested is Bob? hard to say. How interested is the general public after the first non-competitive fight? Probably not much. But Rigo is having trouble finding a decent opponent, I think it's worth it for him and ROC to reach out and try to negotiate.

Donaire remains the only fighter who had the balls to face Rigo. With the epidemic of ducking and excuse making in almost every other division, Donaire is the type of fighter a real boxing fan admires.

                    Beautifully put.

Yes Rigo probably beats him worse than last time but hell, can't a guy train differently and work up a strategy? If I were him I'd give it a crack. Nothing to lose. It's not like he needs more money. He's in it for legacy.

Rigo would be massively grateful. And bloody well should be. Idiot.

The problem with that is that he cannot get anywhere near that fighting anyone else and his plight is that no one else as far as a big name wants to fight him and the networks aren't going to pay the kind of money for a rematch that would be anywhere near that amount. If he is offered half that money, he should leap at it because nothing else is happening for him right now and he is not getting any younger. He would be right to want more money, be the economics would never allow that and even though he won the first fight, Donaire is still the bigger name and would get more money, even thought that is not how things should be.

But that's a moot point because no one is paying to put that fight on. I would like to see Rigo make a huge sum of money before he retires because he has dedicated his life to boxing but he should have demanded attention by blowing his last opponent out of the ring and instead, he created a lack of excitement and command little to no interest. He is part victim, part perpetrator in his circumstances. Too bad for him none of the top fighters or champs want to fight him. He needs to become mandatory but the world knows they are not champs till they face him.

Until then, he is the best 122 pound fighter in the world till someone can prove otherwise, which is doubtful unless he grows old fast.
