We all wish Haymon does the same thing and reaches out to non-PBC fighters to make meaningful fights happen, especially when he's reluctant to pit his fighters against each other.

Lara allegedly wants Golovkin. So why not reach out to Loeffler and make the fight happen?

Pac should retire. He just has too much going on in his life besides boxing.
To stay sharp, a fighter has to treat fighting as a full time job. This is true for all fighters but especially for a fighter over 35.
Manny was great, probably the most exciting fighter of his era but its time to walk away.

Maybe Broner is having beef with both Floyd and Haymon and is looking to make a move to Top Rank now that he is no longer the future of Haymon's stable. Only way this fight happens.

Ironic that what you say for Pac and AB is the same thing everyone said when there was talk of Floyd vs Manny... "NO CHANCE IN HELL that Pac and Floyd will fight because of Al Haymon and Bob Arum". And just like then, Manny knows that in order to make the fight he wants, he has to by-pass Arum just to get an initial conversation going with non top rank fighters. Otherwise, Arum will make the fight seem impossible to make. This is the part where AB could have spoken prematurely and in turn made negotiations more difficult. Could he still land the fight? Sure. But with him making this kind of behind-the-scene business public, if Manny really wanted it, and say the public and Arum openly push back against it, it'll put pressure on Manny to not take the fight, which again could cause AB to lose his biggest paycheck to date.

Perfect example: Everyone hated Floyd for picking Berto. That fight would have never happened if Berto had made public that he was in negotiations to fight Floyd.

Dunno. I keep seeing people say "Pacquiao should fight his own Berto and retire". I frankly can't think of a better candidate for that role than Broner.

The one thing I like on this fight is, it's a test on whether Pacquiao truly is washed up or not. Same as with Bradley.
