I see what you're saying but I don't think them being black had anything to do with it. Paul Williams was a very difficult style for him, regardless of race I don't think floyd would have fought him (just like Margarito but he was an even better version of him)

Tim bradley wasnt a big name and was campaigning at 140 before he went to top rank, not a realistic option for floyd.

Floyd had a much better option in cotto when Devon Alexander was a decent option for him. After that It came down to Alexander coming off a boring win over bailey or guerrero coming off an exciting win over berto, so guerrero was more lucrative.

Fact is berto would have gotten the floyd fight much sooner had he beaten ortiz or guerrero, it had nothing to do with race

I understand camaraderie and national pride but at the same time it's not a team sport, it's strictly an individual sport. He should want to prove himself and fight the best and there's a lot of good PR talent. All the great PR fighters have fought fellow countrymen.

I wouldn't include Alexander because he's not a sellable fight, TB is with TR so you know damn well why that fight didn't happen. No excuse for not fighting P Will.

It's not national pride. He's bragging. He's saying. I don't want to target any Puerto Rican titles...., because I will win. He is not thinking about losing to a Puerto Rican.

Never thought about it that way, either way usually when fighters are THAT confident they want to get in the ring and do it.

Forgot about that. Could've fought him before the L but I can see how that affected their chances of not fighting.
