Wards inactivity killed him. Had he stayed more active and fought better opp i dont think any one can take anything from Ward. Now they can.

        • GGG is a better boxer, has better footwork, is just as big as Canelo, and hits several times as hard as Alvarez (I won't try to invent some pseudo-scientific number). If Canelo couldn't seriously hurt Cotto, how will he hurt GGG? Think of it this way: how would Cotto fare against GGG? If you think he gets smashed, then how can you honestly say Canelo wins against GGG? Triangle theory be damned, this is just a straight up comparative effort and I see no way GGG loses to Canelo.

Ward had right shoulder problems since he was 12 of age... He had to postpone the Super Six final bout with Froch due to injury and he broke his left hand during that fight. After the Dawson fight, Ward undertook surgery at his right shoulder... He only fought E-Rod and Paul Smith since then.

You fools underestimate fans, hollywood stars, etc... They go where the money is.
Cotto-Martinez did 350k, both have a following. Ward Golovkin wasn't doing that, especially not right after Ward just stepped out of the dead zone.

But Ward was willing to fight Mayweather at 160, so why not shut up the detractors and **** little g up? as you can see we are going in circles. Yes GGG was willing to fight Froch and Chavez Jr for big PPV money at 168, no he wasn't willing to fight Ward for a half decent purse at 168. Same way that Ward was willing to fight for great money against floyd at 160 but not willing to fight Golovking at 164 for decent money. Its the same thing I just don't know what angle you are taking to justify one but not the other.

Ward-Kovalev will do something in thay range. So for GGG to do the numbers that he did in his last fight. Its means that he has puddle to no buzz among casuals. And hasn't even completely won over the hardcore community.
lets not be naive..anyone would take his following..he's more popular with any brand of fan more than 90% of boxers..he sold out the garden..regardless of the ppv sales that is impressive..but im inclined to agree that ward vs kovalev does around 4k

Understandably taken. The fact still remains. The inactivity killed him. Sadly. Some still hold him high in the ranks. Which i find utterly ridiculous.
