The problem regarding Ward is that the opportunity already passed, so boxing fans (of both Ward and Golovkin) should just come to an honest agreement. Ward is already prepped for Light Heavyweight. Ward, in all honesty, has bigger challenges to face now since the Kovalev bout, come 2016, is in the works. So for Ward fans that's what they are up against.
Now with Golovkin, he never had an interest to move to 168, that was just talk, even in interviews weren't in the context. I think the theory why GGG didn't move to 168 along with mgmt and consulting is that they were too pressured to fight Ward, nor did Froch have interest. Did Abel or Loeffler mention any other names, in detail, other 168 fighters? What were the price offerings too?
The whole catchweight request was strategically prepared during Ward's transition to 175, so any conflicts in press and affecting Ward's protocol to move up, would benefit Loeffler and Golovkin's camp, and with unecessary drama caused by fans.
Realistically there's no way Ward would accept a 164 lb bout... Why? Ward's opposition and circumstancial accomplishments supersede Golovkin, so again Loeffler and Sanchez took advantage of the situation knowing fully well of the conflict.
Regarding Golovkin personally he should just moved up an take top 10 fighters assuming Sanchez's theories that Championship Cruiserweights in sparring are easy...then it should be no problem for him to go 168. Being champ at two weights with a great record is better than padding a resume with random top 20 fighters. Mgmt theory is easy to understand when you view the ladder of bouts and comparisons at boxrec. There's usually a consistent pattern and culture.
I used to be a Chavez fan, but I know fully well that his Mgmt were very corrupt..
