God forbid Golovkin wants the lineal crown of his own division and to actually unify all of the belts, the nerve of him!!!
In the real world which we are in, the MW champ has not been interested in fighting GGG so fans WERE asking him to fight Ward, when Ward was @ 168, because he couldn't get a top name AND because he had explored going to 168 for other fights.
Since Ward signed the HBO deal-thus officially moving to 175 and on to Kov-the GGG issue is no more.
Please also stop with this unification BS. This goal is getting the highest paying fights that pose the least risk.
Unification is what he and his fans fall back to whenever the Ward fight was brought up. GGG an his team were perfectly willing to risk not being able to unify.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 12-23-2015, 12:38 PM.

Bute - Ward Ducked
Degale - Ward Ducked
those two i know for sure Called out Ward (Bute was a while ago) and Ward had no options at 168 because GGG decided not to move up. if you guys call GGG a ducker because he didn't fight ward at 168 then by those standards ward is chicken **** because he ducked fighters in his own division which is way worse.
However to the point of this article GGG vs. Canelo would be a great fight, and much more popular then Ward vs. GGG, however i would favor GGG over Canelo and if he beats Canelo i want GGG to fight Ward next at 168 (if Ward can even make that fight) as this is the only fighter i see who is favored vs. GGG even though other 168 lbsers can make it very competitive.

GGG has always consistently maintained unifying is a goal, not sure why you label that is BS since he's been saying it for YEARS. He said it in 2012 and he said it when he was fighting in Germany (that his ultimate goal is to unify middleweight). Golovkin has gone after all of the title holders in the division, from Felix Sturm to Sergio Martinez to Cotto to Peter Quillin to Andy Lee to Geale to Canelo to Rubio (for the interim belt). Some fights are big some fights are small; targeting the title holders has not changed.

In what strange alternative reality does that make sense?

If the Triple Duck really wanted to unify the alphabet trinkets then why accept step aside money for Cotto to defend the WBC belt against Canelo? If unification is SOOOO important then why doesn't the Triple Duck immediately enforce his mandatory and call for a purse bid? Why?
I'll tell you why. Bumlovkin is in the business of boxing for the M O N E Y. *Everything* else is secondary. You Bumlovkinites running around screaming this "unification is the goal" nonsense do nothing but make yourselves look like drooling ******s.

So what's the latest on the Canelo/Golovkin negotiation saga? Last I read, the WBC gave another extension. Was that an indefinite extension?
